The Beauty of Marriage

Marriage was designed by God in order for a man and a woman to appreciate the advantages of each other's company. 

The Bible is full of verses, which speak about the benefits of two people sharing life together; and when we add Christ into the equation, the three of us are not easily defeated (Genesis 2:18, 20; Ecclesiastes 4:9-12).

When a man finds a wife, he opens up a whole world of benefits for himself and his future family (Proverbs 18:22). Like puzzle pieces, we learn to fit together perfectly and blend our two personalities to work as a team.

Our individual strengths help to overcome the weaknesses in one another. We never insist on our own way, but we talk out our issues until we find a third plan, on which we can both agree.  

This prevents heated words, angry emotions and shredded feelings. If both members prefer one another over themselves, there is no issue in any relationship, which cannot be worked out.

Both partners must really listen to one another and take each other seriously. Even if the issue seems unimportant to us, it is important to our mate, so we should take it seriously.

This helps us not to over-react, because we know we are heard. It also allows us to gather all the facts before forming conclusions (Proverbs 18:13).

If we dwell together with understanding and prefer our mate over our self, then love grows (1 Peter 3:7). When we make God the priority in our marriage, and worship God and serve in a church together, our respect for one another increases.

Marriage also helps us to increase our wealth by either both working at different jobs, or by one staying home to frugally care for the house, children and family errands.

We build together rather than tearing each other down. Abiding by these principles tends to resolve many marital issues before they ever start, and we cherish and admire one another.

Prayer:

Father God remind us that in our marriage, we do not complete one another. Only Christ in us can truly complete us (Colossians 2:10). Neither do we compete with one another.

Instead, we complement each other. We provide wisdom in decisions, companionship, physical assistance, and support for one another in body, soul and spirit.

Enable us to see that the longer we are married, the more we feel comfortable with one another, and we no longer feel the need to impress each other. We feel safe in the confidence that we are loved and cherished. We relax, breath easily and smile more often.

Remind us to enjoy one another's company and to have fun together. Help us to understand one another and like, as well as love each other. Especially prompt us not to take one another for granted.

When God gives us a mate to share our life with, we cherish, honor and protect one another for an entire lifetime.

Hope in God - Part 2

 

   

We believe in God, not because we are naive, but because of His many fulfilled Biblical prophecies, as well as God's provision every day in our own life and for all of His Saints (Romans 8:24-25).

We do not have to hope only in what we already have; but we can eagerly wait in hope in the unseen promises of God. Our hope of living in the presence of God now and in eternity is the sure and firm anchor of our soul (Hebrews 6:19-20).

Believers in our Lord Jesus Christ have peace with God and grace in which we stand as we rejoice in God's glory (Romans 5:1-3, 12:12). Christ who dwells within every Believer by His Holy Spirit, helps us to hope in God's glory (Colossians 1:27-28).

Our hope in God assures us of a resurrection of the dead, both of Believers to Heaven and unbelievers, who condemn themselves to hell (John 3:16-18; Acts 24:15).

Believers have this hope, because by faith we turned away from our former sinful lifestyle. We look forward to Christ's glorious appearance on the day, which God already decided (Titus 2:13-14; Matthew 24:36).

Some people have known God's presence in their life from a young age. They learned to trust Him with a child-like faith. (Psalm 71:5-6). No matter when we come to faith in Christ, however, we realize that He has known us since conception (Psalm 139:13).

The Lord is our provision for all of our needs; therefore, we can hope in His presence in our life (Lamentations 3:24). Our hope is never disappointed, because of His love in our hearts (Romans 5:5).

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, we pray that You and our Father God, who loves us and gives us an eternal consolation, will establish us according to Your will, in all we say and do. Comfort our hearts with Your hope and abundant grace (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17). 

You give us a far better hope than anything this world can offer to us, because Christ perfects us and makes us acceptable to You, so that we can draw near to You every moment of every day (Hebrews 7:19). We completely rest our hope in Your mercy and grace that is revealed to us through Christ in us (1 Peter 1:13-14)

Thought for the Day:

May the God of hope completely fill you with all of the joy and peace, which believing in Him gives to us, so that you can abound in even more hope by the power of His Spirit. - Romans 15:13

Hope in God - Part 1

​

During trials and setbacks, Satan discourages us and makes us doubt God's love. We lose our hope, until we totally surrender our human confidence, dreams and goals to God (Proverbs 3:5-6).

No matter how long or dreadful we suffer in this world, we never lose our hope in God (Psalm 39:7). His Saints love Him, because the Lord faithfully preserves those who are faithful to Him.

We can strengthen our heart and have strong courage, because our hope is in God, not in our self or what we want out of life (Psalm 31:23-24). God never abandons our soul or brings us to ruin.

He leads us in His path of life. We find fullness of joy in His presence; and as we serve Him, we are delighted all the days of our life (Psalm 16:10-11).

Even when we suffer with negative emotions like discouragement and stress, we can still hope in God. As we praise Him, He puts a smile on our lips, a twinkle in our eyes and a jaunt in our steps (Psalm 42:5-6).

He encourages us and our soul rejoices as we remember His goodness and provision (Psalm 42:11). As we hope in God we hear His voice and recognize Him as our Lord and Savior (Psalm 38:15).

As we remember all that God does for us and the words He speaks to us, we set our hope in Him. He comforts us in our trials and His Son and His Word give us life (Psalm 78:7, 119:49-50).

Prayer:

Father God, You are our hiding place in times of insecurity and our shield when life frightens us (Psalm 119:114). Our soul waits for You, more than the night watchmen eagerly wait for the morning, and we put all of our hope in Your Word (Psalm 130:5-6).

Those who do not have a personal relationship with You are sick at heart, but our desire is for You. You bless us with Your life within us (Proverbs 13:12; John 14:6). As we walk in Your righteous ways, we have peace and joy (Proverbs 10:28).
