Living In God's Presence

Many people are too busy to hear the call of God's Spirit within them to abide alone in His presence and to come and rest a little while. We fill our days and nights with chores and activities, and then sit in front of the TV or radio if we have a moment to spare! 

We also have texting, instant messages, and social media to keep us occupied; sometimes, even after we turn off the light and go to bed! God's Spirit is calling us to cease from our labors and to enter into God's rest (Hebrews 4:1-10). 

God captivates us and draws us closer to Him with each passing day. He calls us to wait on Him and to luxuriate in His holiness, love, peace and joy. In our spirit, we experience the delights of fellowshipping with the Spirit of the King of Kings. We focus only on God and tune out the world around us.

Our desire for intimacy with God increases daily. In our quiet times, He reveals to us the truths of His Word and the answers to our questions. We choose to make our self available to service in any area, which God highlights for us to do. 

We live in more and more victory over sin and more peace in our soul (Isaiah 26:3). The angel of the Lord camps all around us to protect and care for us (Psalm 34:7). The divine nature of Christ replaces the carnal nature of our humanity (2 Peter 1:4). 

We are more spiritually minded and we care less about the aspects of this world. We sit at Jesus' feet and soak up His presence, even if we sit in companionable silence. We eventually physically leave this place of solitude, but we remain there spiritually through each moment of the day.

Prayer:

Father God, remind us that we can come to the place where we live in Your presence and never leave. We can carpool the children, give our boss 100% of our effort, provide for our family and nurture our mate as we dwell under the shadow of Your wings. 

We can view life's disappointments, heartbreaks and successes from Your eyes and react to life's stresses with Your character rather than our human nature.You fill our entire being with Your presence and You make us Yours forevermore.

Thought for the Day:

We continually remain in God's presence each moment of the day and walk in His Spirit to accomplish the works, which He calls us to perform. -  Ephesians 2:10

Fellowshipping With God

God rejoices over us with singing (Zephaniah 3:17). He delights in us when we make a joyful noise to Him. He does not require skilled voices or instruments. He just wants us to spend time with Him. He enjoys us coming into His presence with singing. He is our God and He made us to fellowship with Him.

 

Fortunately for us, our salvation does not depend on our human effort. God just wants us to serve Him with gladness, and not grudgingly. We are His sheep and He is our Shepherd. He watches out for us and protects us from satanic interference. He provides us with healthy Biblical teaching and His living water sustains us throughout our lifetime.

 

Our prayer life includes more than petitions. First, we enter His gates with thanksgiving and then into His courts with praise. The Lord is good. His mercies are eternal and His truth continues throughout every generation. We are thankful to Him for His bountiful provision in our life and we bless His holy name (Psalm 100:1-5).

 

In fellowship with us, God's love burns deeply into our soul - our mind, choices and emotions. He permanently changes our thoughts and the way we feel about life, which affect the choices we make. We emerge from our sessions of fellowship with God exhibiting the mind of Christ and able to make intercession for those whom God's Spirit places on our heart (1 Corinthians 2:16).

 

Prayer:

Father God, help us to relinquish the control of our life to Your Holy Spirit. He prays for us and through us, and guides us and empowers us to do Your will (Romans 8:26; John 14:26, 16:13). Remind us that in our peak of health, or even in our most debilitating sickness, in riches and poverty, and in our youth and old age, we can still function as a prayer warrior in fellowship with You.

Strength for the Weary

There is no need to fear life, because God protects His faithful children. He strengthens us when we get discouraged and helps us when we are stressed. He lifts us up when we are weary, holding our hand and reminding us not to be afraid, because He will help us (Isaiah 41:10,13). We trust God, because He fashioned, created and established the heavens and the earth. There is no one like Him. He inhabits the earth and calls us all to come to Him (Isaiah 45:18; Revelation 22:17).

Those who are rich, strong, wise, and attractive cannot really boast about who they are or what they have done, because it is the Lord who decides who will rise and fall (Psalm 75:7). We can boast, however, in the fact that we know God, who is the Lord of heaven and earth. We exercise compassion, impartiality and holiness on the earth, because these are the attributes in which the Lord truly delights (Jeremiah 9:23-24).

When we rely on our human attributes, young and old alike grow tired in this world of sin and sorrow. However, as we wait on the Lord’s love and His Spirit’s direction, He renews our strength and allows us to rise up with wings like eagles. Then we can face the trials and temptations of life with renewed energy, because God gives potency to the weary and increases the power of the weak (Isaiah 40:29-31).

Every word God spoke will come to pass. Upon His return, every knee, whether they are in heaven, on the earth or under the earth, will bow to King Jesus (Isaiah 45:23; Philippians 2:9-11). God wants His best for us in this life and in the next. He teaches us how to profit both materially and spiritually. He leads us each moment of the day, so that we only follow His way in which we should go (Isaiah 48:17). Do yourself a favor and trust your life to His care.

Prayer:

Father God, you are so awesome, ruling and providing from Your sanctuary. You give power and strength to Your Saints (Psalm 68:35). You loved us enough to die for our sins, and by Your grace you encourage us with Your hope. You strengthen us in our every word and deed, as You work in and through us (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17). I thank You for considering us trustworthy and appointing us to Your service (1 Timothy 1:12). As we hope in You, You renew our strength (Isaiah 40:31).
