Wisdom from Above

We often lack wisdom and understanding in this life. It may come from a lack of training at home, a genetic deficiency, a sheltered life or a poor education.

We are not prepared to face the constant adversity and challenges of daily living. God promises to give us the wisdom we need, if we simply ask (James 1:5).

His wisdom is well beyond our years and also comes from senior Saints who experienced more of God and life's complications than we have. We only need to listen to their advice rather than thinking we know better than they do.

Basically, most humans are self-confident fools and pseudo-intellectuals who lack basic understanding (Isaiah 32:1-6). However, as we rely on God for wisdom, we end up speaking the inspiration provided by His Spirit.

We utter truth and refrain from saying curse words and making foolish remarks from confused thinking. Our thoughts and words are righteous; and there is no guile of lies from the devil mixed up in them.

Those who have a heart after God see the wisdom in our thoughts and words and agree with us. Only those with the eyes of their understanding clouded by sin refuse to see the spiritual insight in what we say and do.

They live in their own world of deception and believe in the lies fed to them by the "guru's" of this world (2 Peter 3:14-18). They judge our wisdom from above as crooked, perverse and contrary to their truth.

Yet, whoever comes to Christ finds true wisdom and priceless treasure beyond their wildest imagination; finds favor with the highly exalted King of all kings; and prospers in all of his/her ways (Psalm 119:1-2, 128:1-2; Luke 11:28).

Prayer:
Father God, thank You for teaching us Your Truth and leading us on the paths of spiritual understanding. They are more costly than silver and more precious than gold. They are more beautiful than rubies and pearls and are more desirable than what the world we live in considers as valuable (Job 28:15; Psalm 19:10, 119:127).

You teach us knowledge, prudence and discretion and give us Your power (James 1:5). We abide in our worship of You and we hate evil; we walk away from pride and arrogance with perverted thoughts, desires, words and actions (Romans 13:1; Daniel 2:21). We remain in You and walk in Your ways all the days of our life.

Thought for the Day:
God loves those who love Him, seek His wisdom and dedicate their every waking moment to His service, regardless of our secular training or vocation.
- 1 Samuel 2:30; John 14:21; James 1:5

God is Able

 https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDrcl7TI1kTdRf-6AcYFkq4bLmg7kTYnd81p5Xj-xEycUetA26cce3tDniS8JwejDd__FPTqWDlTXaIGfUL9nLx1qSE8gofMBqUFsfd6rRvD-Xb8nQ2c7tEG54VOFEbCK5XV399F73c5ig/s1600/Flowers_-_Spring_Road.jpg

God is able to do immeasurably more for us than we can ever imagine (Philippians 4:19). However, He resists the proud and unrighteous and only responds to the humble and upright in heart (Ephesians 3:20; James 4:6).

His power works in authentic Believers and calls us to a deeper relationship with Him. He desires that we dedicate our entire heart, soul, mind and strength to His service (Mark 12:30).

Daily, we come to know Him more intimately through prayer, including times of listening; Bible reading and meditation; fellowshipping and worshipping with other Believers; and walking by His Spirit moment by moment throughout the day.

Limiting God to our human understanding is foolish and prevents us from fully trusting Him with our life. There is nothing He requires of us that is impossible, as long as we trust in and rely on His power within us (Matthew 19:26).

We also allow Satan's lies, perpetuated by devilish people in this world, to prevent us from enjoying God's bountiful fellowship with us day by day (Matthew 5:19).

His desire is to conform us into the likeness of His Son Jesus and to work out everything in this life for our ultimate good (Romans 8:28-29). Our humble submission to His will guarantees His blessings in our life.

Prayer:
Father God, we look forward to You accomplishing Your will on this earth and in our life, just as it is already produced in heaven (Matthew 6:10). We do not want to convince You to do our will through our prayers and petitions; but to pray according to Your Spirit that Your will shall be done.

We trust in Your perfect plan for our life and we submit to the direction of Your Spirit each moment of the day (Proverbs 3:5-8). We present our self to You as an empty vessel for You to fill with the mind of Christ, the fruit of Your Spirit and Your divine nature (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

Thought for the Day:
We humble our self under the mighty hand of God and surrender our body, soul and spirit for Him to use for His glory; as we acknowledge that He can do infinitely more in and through us than we ever could on our own. - 1 Peter 5:6-7

The Body of Christ

It is so good and pleasant for the Body of Christ to dwell together in unity (Psalm 133:1). Our love for Jesus and for one another is a testimony to the world that He really does dwell within us (John 13:35).

At the same time, we are also citizens of Heaven (Philippians 3:20). Our great High Priest is our King as well. He gave His life to allow us unlimited access to our Father’s throne (Hebrews 4:16).

The bond of Christ’s love for us and in us brings unity to all of us in His Body no matter where we live or how old we are (1 Corinthians 1:10). We stand together in our faith by one Spirit. We think, act and believe as one Body (Philippians 1:27, 2:2).

As the Spirit sanctifies each one of us, we learn to conduct our self as an example of the gospel of Christ. We prefer one another above our self (Romans 12:10) and we search the scriptures together to come to a similar understanding of His Word (Acts 17:11).

When one member of Christ’s Body suffers, we all suffer; and when one rejoices, we all rejoice (1 Corinthians 12:26). As authentic Believers, we are individually and corporately an exact representation of Christ (Colossians 1:15).

We all share the same vision to live Godly, and the same purpose to save souls. Every tongue, tribe and nation will all spend eternity with one another in His presence (Titus 3:5-7).

The Spirit unifies us with the Father through Christ (John 17:21-22). We share in the unity of the triune God; and we live as an example to the world of a God of love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, meekness, self-control and faith (Galatians 5:22-23; John 17:21).

Prayer:
Father God, help us as Your Body to put on the mind of Christ, to speak the words given to us by Your Holy Spirit and to follow Your will for each moment of our day. Remind us to glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character gives us hope.

Hope prevents us from experiencing shame, because Your love has been poured out into our hearts through Your Holy Spirit (Romans 5:1-5). Your purpose for our life is to be conformed to the image of Your Son (Romans 8:29). Restore our relationships within Your Body and unite us as a testimony of Your life and love within us.

Thought for the Day:
We walk with Christ each day and learn to trust Him and love Him through every circumstance, both the good experiences and the trials.
