News sources continually report animosity between the Middle Eastern nations and Israel. Palestinians, Jordanians, Saudi Arabians, Egyptians, Lebanese, Hamas, Hezbollah, Syrians, and Iraqis boast of their plans to eradicate Israel from the earth. They despise the fact that the United Nations restored Israel to part of the land God gave to His chosen seed of Abraham.
They even have plans to destroy Israel. They want to blot our Israel’s name so that no one remembers it anymore (Psalm 83:2-8). However, they do not count on God’s love and protection of Abraham’s seed. Any wars that ever took place against Israel since 1948 have failed, and Israel gains more land with each skirmish.
Theologians agree that even though these nations do not realize it, they are under God’s control. He will send earthquakes, torrential rains, hail, fire, and sulfur to destroy what the Bible calls Gog and Magog; and He will establish a new Jerusalem in which to abide with His people forever (Ezekiel 39:17-20, Chapters 40-48).
The news reports show that even now world hatred of the Jews is still growing in intensity and spreading throughout Europe. Sneak attacks against Israel occur frequently, which is all fulfillment of Bible prophecy. God is not blind to these occurrences, and He helps Israel to counter these attacks (Psalm 102:13).
We are rapidly racing toward the Rapture of the Church and the Great Tribulation. Each new morning brings us a day closer to these events. Jerusalem is the target of much controversy and unrest, but God will end the plans of Russia and the Middle Eastern nations by His sovereign control. Jesus will ultimately set up His rule and reign over the nations of the earth from this very city.
Prayer:
Father God, You promised Abraham that His seed will be a mighty nation and they will bless all the people of the earth; yet, Satan and his forces are still desperately trying to wipe out Your chosen nation. He does not want Jesus to reign supreme over the earth, and daily he sends spiritual warfare against Your nation and church. Due to world events right now, it appears to Born Again Believers that You will bring world events to a culmination sooner than later. Each new day brings us closer and closer to this event.
People scoff at Christians for continuing to believe in Christ’s imminent return after all these years, but You will reign victorious when the prophesies in Your Word are all fulfilled through literal means. It is easy for Satan to deceive people in these last days, although we see the end-time prophecies fulfilled almost every day by reports through our news sources. We are so glad that Your promises are “Yes and Amen,” and that we can rely on the veracity of Your Word (2 Corinthians 1:20).

God’s Word exhorts us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and He blesses all the nations and people who support Israel, but He curses those nations and people who come against His chosen people; with Israel’s ultimate defeat of the combined forces of opposing nations, then the whole earth will know that God is the Lord.
