Our only fruitful hope during our lifetime comes from God. He is our solitary solid Rock on which to stand, and our single hope of eternal salvation (John 14:6). In Christ, we will never be shaken because He is our Strength and Refuge. We always trust in Him as we pour out our heart to His attentive ears. Our soul waits silently and patiently for Him alone (Psalm 62:5-8).
Jesus healed many people during His lifetime, but there was a common ingredient in everyone He healed: faith in Him. The blind saw, the lame walked, the lepers healed, people raised from the dead (Matthew 9:29-30; Mark 5:21-43; Luke 7:11-17; John 11:38-44). God’s healing is available to everyone who seeks it. He is our Great Physician (Luke 5:31).
We actively pursue Him for our healing in body, soul, and spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:16-23). Jesus was also a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief during His life on earth (Isaiah 53:3); therefore, He can relate to our feelings and circumstances as well as heal them, and He sustains and comforts us in the midst of them.
We can trust in God’s healing hands upon our life. Many view death as failure or unanswered prayer. However, death is our ultimate healing. We get an immortal body, our emotions are full of peace and joy, our faith turns to sight, and we abide in the physical presence of the Trinity of God forever.
We often feel that we are not worthy of God’s healing, not important enough for Him to pay attention to. Of course, in our flesh, nothing good exists (Romans 7:18). We are not good enough and never will be, because we are all sinners (Romans 3:23-26). However, God is love and He loved us before we ever loved Him (1 John 4:19). He heals us because that is who He is and what He does.
Prayer:
Father God, Your Word describes faith as hiding God’s Word in our heart. We do this so we do not sin against You, and we have faith that overcomes the world as well as what is seen by our human eyes (Mark 11:23; Romans 4:17; 1 John 5:4). With the eyes of faith, we see our self healed by the blood of the Lamb and in the name of Jesus Christ (James 4:7). We pay attention to everything that we eat and drink and do everything in life for Your glory (1 Corinthians 10:31).
Thank You for exchanging our sin for Jesus’ righteousness and seeing us as perfect through His sacrifice on Calvary’s cross (Galatians 2:20). Your protection, provision, and presence in us sustains us through every trial we meet in our lifetime. You always plant a seed for a miracle in every circumstance, and we encourage our self by looking for that tiny miracle that is just waiting to happen. Thank You for Your faithful watch care over Your children. We give You all the praise and glory due to Your name.
Thoughts for the Day:
We prove our love to God by keeping His commandments, by walking in His ways, and by following His plans for our life (John 14:21; Ephesians 2:10). His love is a salve for our deepest wounds and sends His healing light into the darkest recesses of our soul (Romans 10:10). We access His love and strengthen our spirit by daily washing in His Word and meditating throughout the day on what we read.
