God's Inner Peace Leads Us

God designed us with His perfect will in mind for our life (Ephesians 2:10). It always starts with salvation through Christ, through which we receive eternal life starting at that moment of our true repentance (John 6:40).

Then, He calls us to a life of holiness to exhibit His glory in the earth (1 Peter 1:15). He teaches us patience through the events which we suffer (James 1:4-8). We gain contentment as He fills us with His joy and teaches us to pray without ceasing - full of gratitude for all of His provision (Philippians 4:12; John 14:27).

Slowly but consistently, God's Spirit conforms us to His Son's image, and we join Him as the family of God (Romans 8:29). We grow closer in our union with Him through every difficulty and blessing which He brings our way.

Entering into His will through our faith in Christ Jesus, we continue on His plan for our life through each decision we make. We hear His Spirit direct us in the minutest details of our day; telling us to turn to our right or to our left (Isaiah 30:21).

The key in this walk is to make time to listen to God's Spirit within us, to repent of any sin He reveals in us, and not to ignore or argue with His direction for our day. Our Heavenly Father knows best.

This requires that we slow down the busyness of our schedule and to listen to His peaceful, quiet voice within us (Isaiah 30:15). Fulfillment is our reward when we seek the prize of the high calling of God, and purpose to do His will with our life rather than our own (Philippians 3:14).

Prayer:
Father God, Your Holy Spirit beckons us to follow Your will and to accomplish Your works with our life in this world (Ephesians 2:10). We often stray from Your perfect plan - drawn away by enticing situations and emergencies which compete for our attention (James 1:14).

Remind us to follow Your peace in every situation, regardless of the analytical, human thoughts in our mind (Proverbs 3:5-6). Help us to establish a daily quiet time, with continual spurts of attention given to Your direction all day long. When we follow Your advice on which way to turn, we never take the wrong road (Isaiah 30:21).

Thought for the Day:
God's guiding voice calls to us each moment of our day, but we can only hear it as we quiet the voices of the flesh, the world and the devil within us, and acknowledge God's will for every moment of our day. - Proverbs 3:5-6

God's Peace Rules

It is so difficult not to react with anxiety to events occurring in our life and in our world. Also, due to childhood experiences that we suppress in our subconscious mind, we are plagued with apprehension all of our life.

We read verses and memorize many of them in order to reprogram our mind with God’s truth. We constantly wonder why we cannot experience the peace of God ruling in our heart (Colossians 3:15-17).

However, those suppressed experiences continue to affect us every day of our life; because hidden within every traumatic memory is a lie from Satan, which our soul believes.

God graciously led me to a counselor who used prayer rather than his advice to help people. He taught me to sit in God’s presence and to allow God to shine His light on these hidden issues (1 Timothy 5:5).

As we wait on the Lord in prayer, He reveals Satan’s lies and dispels them with His personal word of truth to our soul. As God’s truth disperses the anxiety in our soul, we are able to surrender all of our cares to Him in gratitude (1 Peter 5:7).

Then God’s peace, which comes regardless of our human understanding, guards our soul and spirit from any further lies and abuse through the presence of Christ in us (Philippians 4:6-7).

This peace only comes as we totally surrender to God and allow Him to make our way smooth and peaceful (Proverbs 3:6), as we continually give Him thanks for the victory we have through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57).

Prayer:
Father God, teach us to pray in the Spirit during every moment of our day. We also need to remember to pray for fellow Believers as we face the issues of our individual lives (Ephesians 6:18; 1 Timothy 2:1). We trust in You in every area of our day.

Thank You for listening to us as we pour out our heart to You (Psalm 62:8). Remind us that You will establish our thoughts as we commit our thoughts, words and deeds to You (Proverbs 16:3).

When we are tempted to worry, remind us to live in the moment and to commit each future moment to Your safe keeping rather than worrying about it. You have our best interest in Your heart and You will work out every detail for our eventual blessing (Romans 8:28).

Thought for the Day:
Jesus told us: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about anything, because worry cannot add one positive aspect to your life." – Matthew 6:25-34

God's Peace

God gives us the choice to use our life to either serve Him, self or Satan (John 3:16-18). We human beings search for peace all of our life, usually exploring all the wrong places, until we find Christ. When God's Spirit reveals the reality of Christ to us, we turn from the dark life of separation from God to the spiritual walk of light and life (Romans 8:9).

There are two types of spiritual peace. One is peace with God, and the other is the peace of God. Both of these transcend any earthly peace we experience. They are true and present within us, regardless of our outer circumstances. God's peace blesses us in every area of our life.

Peace with God comes when we surrender our life to Christ and trust Him to save us from our sins. He leads us in His daily will for us as we reject the influence of the world, the flesh and Satan (1 Thessalonians 1:9; John 3:16-17; Ephesians 2:10). God wraps us in His wisdom and strength. As children of God, we receive all the benefits of adoption into God's Kingdom through our unity with Jesus, God's Son and Heir (Acts 26:18).

The peace of God is a fruit of His Spirit, which we receive at salvation. It manifests in us as we rely on His Spirit instead of our human strength and accomplishments. We allow the peace of God to rule in our heart and to affect our body, soul and spirit (Colossians 3:15). We live by the faith of God's Son, who dwells in us by His Spirit, and we trust Him to work out everything in our life for our good (Galatians 2:20; Romans 8:28).

Prayer:
Father God, we can never receive more of You than we have at Salvation, because You move into our spirit with all the attributes and power of the Trinity. However, we can enjoy more intimacy with You in correlation to how much time we spend with You each day. The more of our flesh, which we surrender to the Cross of Christ, the more of Your fullness we experience (Ephesians 3:19). We can never control life, but You always work things out for our good (Romans 8:28). In the midst of the storms of life, Your peace keeps us calm within and gives us wisdom for every situation, which we face (John 14:27).

Thought for the Day:
As His Word dwells within us, God's peace, which defies human comprehension, guards and rules in our soul - our mind, choices and emotions. - Colossians 3:16; Philippians 4:7
