A Life Worth Living

Trees and Grass Field Under Cloudy Sky during Daytime

Life is only worth living as we live it for God. Jesus surrendered all to Our Father - even His crucifixion and death on the cross (Matthew 26:36-56). He gave us this example to follow.

God is more than one who answers our prayers. He is Supreme Ruler of the universe. We owe Him our allegiance. The least we can do is to surrender all to Him.

Once we realize the true meaning of Christ abiding in us, we appreciate our unity with Him, depend on Him for every breath we take, and trust in His grace and love.

He gives us power for our service for Him, gladness in our fellowship with Him and His Saints, and security in His goodness and provision for all of our daily needs.

Since God supplies all of our needs, if we do not have something we want, this means that we do not really need it at this time in our life. As we wait patiently on His timing and will, He will put His desires in our heart and we will live in true contentment.

When we surrender to God our cares in this life, we not only improve our outlook on life, but also our physical health, our emotional balance and our spirit's well-being.

We dedicate every waking moment to Him: serving in the vocation, ministering in the neighborhood and church family, and dedicating our fun times to the service to which He calls us.

We enter His rest, bask in His presence and walk in His will each moment of our day and night. We join all of creation in groaning for His glorious redemption and appearing (Romans 8:19-22).

His abiding presence in our life fills us with hope, gives us His joy as our strength and inspires us to live in the happiest place on earth - the very center of His will.

Prayer:
Father God, remind us that sin separates us from You, and apathy will rob us of the joy of our salvation. You reveal to us Your path of life and in Your presence is fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11). You never hide Your face from your children as we walk in Your will and love You with our whole heart, soul, mind and strength (Luke 10:27).

We joy in Your continual presence in our life, we delight in doing Your will which You write on our heart, and we draw from Your constant strength which supports us throughout our day (Habakkuk 3:18; Psalm 40:8). We owe You all of our praise and dedicate our life only to you.

Thought for the Day:
We rest in undisturbed repose, unimaginable joy and a life blessed with quietness and worship as we totally surrender every aspect of our life to God.

Awesome God

Image result for free photo galaxies

In the midst of all the galaxies in our universe, God singled out the planet earth to inhabit with His people. He will bring New Jerusalem, His 1500 mile cubed city, down out of heaven and dwell with us here for eternity (Revelation 21:2).

This city, paved with streets of gold, shows us that what we value more than anything in this world in which we now live will be common place in the city of God (Revelation 21:21; 1 Corinthians 2:9).

We revel in nature as we see it on earth; yet, God will give us a new heaven and earth which resemble Paradise before Adam and Eve fell into sin. This is something else which we cannot imagine.

Even more awesome than any of this, however, is that God gives His Saints the gift of His divine presence abiding in our life now and forever.

There is no longer any separation between God and humanity, because Jesus bridged the gap by His death and resurrection.
He left the glories of heaven to include us in His inheritance of God's Kingdom.

Yet, we take this illustrious fact for granted, and spending time with God is the least of our priorities. We know He will always be there for us, so we only visit Him when we have a problem we cannot handle on our own.

God is jealous for our time and attention (Exodus 34:14). He created us as His own special people. He calls us out of the world to abstain from the evil desires of sin and to seek only His will and way for our life (1 Peter 2:9-12; Proverbs 3:5-6; Ephesians 2:10).

Daily Bible devotion, Christian fellowship, hearing the Word of God preached and singing the high praises of God all bring us into fellowship with God Himself (Psalm 95:2, 100:4; Romans 8:29).

We walk in His presence continually; and even at night, our spirit communes with the Spirit of God as we sleep (Psalm 16:8). We pour out our heart to Him daily; not only with our needs, but primarily with our praises in both good times and bad (Psalm 62:8).

Prayer:
Father God, in Your presence is fullness of joy and in Your right hand are pleasures forevermore (Psalm 16:11). There is nothing which we need that You will not provide for us (Matthew 6:33). You have our best interest in Your heart and You love us faithfully. We continually abide in Your love (John 15:9).

Forgive us for foolishly running after the things of this world to improve our station in this fleeting life (James 4:14). We get new homes, cars, clothes, hobbies and expensive toys that take even more of our time away from You.

Yet, You continually call us back to Your presence; to spend more than an hour of devotion, and to abide in You all day and night long. There is nothing worthy of our attention beside You and we desire nothing on earth except Your presence in our life (Psalm 73:23-26).

Thought for the Day:
The Spirit of our awesome God goes with us always and He gives us continual rest for our weary soul. - Exodus 33:14

The Love of God

The intense love of God burns like a fire deep in our soul, warming us as we travel through this cold world of sin and degradation. Christ died so that we may possess this everlasting love (Romans 6:23). We are precious to Him and we bring Him delight by our obedience (John 14:15). Everything God gave to His firstborn Son, Jesus, He shares with us, His adopted sons. Jesus sacrificed His throne and crown for us, and He did not reserve His life or blood, but gave His all for us.

Only as we completely surrender our life to Him in return, will we come into perfect union with Christ within us.  We totally submit to the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit. We live according to God’s divine will for our life (Ephesians 2:10), and find our fulfillment in our union with Christ. We seek only the will of God in our thoughts, words and deeds, so that He might be glorified in us, just as He was in Jesus (John 14:13). We completely dwell in His love (John 10:17).

We come to the day where we stop offending God with our sinful desires, because the Spirit sanctifies us from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18). He gives us discernment and His Word, so that we can ascertain what will bring God glory. His righteousness pervades our life to the extent that we surrender our sinfulness to Him. We live in harmony with Christ in us through the anointing of His name. Our prayers are centered in Jesus’ name and our life is lived in the power of His name.

Our union also provides us with faith to believe in His faithfulness. We live in unreserved obedience to the Father (1 John 3:22). We pray with confidence in our intimate union with Christ. We sit silently in His presence, knowing that He knows what we need before we even speak it (Matthew 6:8). An abiding life of faith in Christ alone provides power to our prayers (John 15:9). We wait at His feet for Him to provide all of our needs according to His glorious riches (Philippians 4:19; James 4:3).

Jesus shares with us His life, His inheritance, His righteousness and His Spirit. He keeps nothing from us, but freely gives us all things (Romans 8:32). His love is an example of the Father’s love for us as well. Our sinful state magnifies the beauty of His sacrificial love, and His compassion changes us from the inside out. God is love and we abide in His love through His Son (1 John 4:8). As we completely yield our life to His will, we reap the abundance He died to provide for us.

Prayer:
Father God, help us to find the eternal dwelling place provided for us by Your love (Deuteronomy 33:27). Our soul finds its peace in the shadow of Your wings (Psalm 91:4). Cause us to hear Thy loving kindness each morning, for in You we place our trust. Fill us to the brim with Your Spirit, and cause us to know Your will for each moment of our life (Psalm 143:8). We want to abide in Your presence and in the fullness of Your joy (Psalm 16:11).

Thought for the Day:
God’s everlasting love promises us eternal blessings. – Psalm 21:6

Dynamite Power

Photo: The Father Says Today:

The Father says today that you are breaking out of the containment of the enemy. The enemy of My promise in your life has attempted to contain you in borders he could control. You see says the Father the enemy couldn't destroy you so he conspired to limit you. But the enemy cannot limit you for I am in you and because I am limitless even so you are without limits. I can do anything I want any time I want and I don't have to check with anyone so likewise I don't require you to check with the arbiters of unbelief before you decide to walk on water.

Illegitimate authority will not hold you any longer. They presented their credentials and asserted their superiority but who are they anyway? Your calling comes from My hand and your authority arises from the mantle that I have placed upon you. I will take you from the company of the small minded and connect you with MANTLED men and women who will release and strengthen you not hinder or diminish you. This is the hour of launching and increase says the Father. Step into the increase I have provisioned you with even this day.

The word “dunimis”, pronounced “doo’-nam-is”, is the root for our word “dynamite”. It means to have the power residing within, by virtue of its nature. It allows a person or thing to put forth this dynamite power for performing spectacular events. This is the same word used to describe the power by which Jesus raised Himself from the dead. Jesus claimed that no one could take His life from Him and only He had the “dunimis” power to raise it up again (John 10:18).

Once we come to Christ through salvation, all of this “dunimis” power is also resident within us. It is equal to a zillion fireworks going off inside of us at one time. Christ’s light shines in our hearts. We radiate Christ to the world in the same way that a light bulb radiates light. The light does not come from the bulb, but from the electricity flowing to the bulb. The power in us does not come from us, but from God’s “dunimis” power working in us and lighting up our world through us.

We contain Christ in the same way that a glass contains water. The container is not the object of focus, the water is. We usually do not pick up a glass to admire it, but to drink from it. Although we are simple “clay jars”, made from the dust of the earth, we contain God’s greatest treasure, Jesus Christ, who actually lives within every Born Again Believer (Colossians 1:27). Satan wants us to focus on our failings, and he tries to make us feel like failures. However, if Christ is in us, although our body is dead in sin, God’s Spirit gives us life (Romans 8:10). God fills us with His Spirit to sanctify us and to complete us in Christ (1 Corinthians 6:11; Colossians 2:10).

When we recognize the truth that we are dead and our life is hidden with Christ in God, we step aside and allow Christ to live through us (Colossians 3:3; Galatians 2:20). Our light will shine so brightly that people will see our good works and glorify our Father in Heaven (Matthew 5:16). We are so united with Christ that His thoughts fill our mind, His wisdom directs our steps, His life flows through us like a river and His love radiates in us and from us (Philippians 2:5; James 1:5; John 7:38; Isaiah 58:11). We do not focus on the mundane activities of life. We keep our mind on Christ and live in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3).

There is a balance between living in the flesh and living in the Spirit. The key is to walk in the Spirit 24/7. That is a challenge at first, but it gets easy with practice. We follow His peace within our spirit, and do not consider human logic and reasoning. Christ in us wants to live His life through us, while we work at our job, care for our home and family and community, and minister to our church family. We just follow the leading of God's Spirit moment by moment and we live in fullness of joy, even in negative circumstances (Psalm 16:11). Our Father is always well pleased with us (Matthew 3:17).

Prayer:
Father God, Your grace draws us to Jesus, keeps us pursuing holiness and finishes our perfection through sanctification (1 John 3:2). Jesus is our advocate with You (1 John 2:1), and the Holy Spirit makes intercession for us before You (Romans 8:26). You each have your function as a person of the Trinity and You complete us within and without (Colossians 2:10). You direct our steps and use us for Your glory to advance Your Kingdom in the earth (Luke 17:21).

Thought for the Day:
Living in the center of God’s will is the happiest place on earth.

God's Chosen Path

God has a prefect plan for all of our lives. If we care enough to follow it, He will shower us with blessings. His plan escalates with our salvation. Rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly agree to die. But the Good News is that God demonstrated His own love for us by dying for us while we were still sinners. Now we are justified by His blood and saved from His wrath through Christ’s sacrifice! Before salvation, we were God's enemies, but now we are reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, and also saved through Christ’s life (Romans 5:6-10).

There is absolutely no need to understand why Christ died for us while we were still sinners, or why God allowed His only begotten Son to suffer such a horrendous scourging, crucifixion and death or how one man’s death can pay the penalty of the sins of the whole world. We simply accept this by faith and trust that God loves us enough to finish the work in us, which He started on Calvary’s cross (Philippians 1:6). God makes clear to us in His Word that He only honors faith, trust and obedience. He wants complete surrender from us in every area of our life.

Some of us prayed the prayer for salvation many years ago, but we never relinquished our life to Christ. We continued to retain control of our daily schedule and relationships. We failed to seek God’s will for our life; or if we did, we did not follow His leading. Now we are lost, wounded, stressed and weak. The cure for half-hearted devotion is to look at what our Savior did for us. He gave us His all on Calvary's cross. How can we give Him anything less than our all?

God asks us to completely surrender our life to Him. He has a perfect plan for each of us that He set in motion before He ever created the world (Jeremiah 29:11). Surrendering your life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ is the last act we ever have to make with our human will. From then on out, we live according to God’s will for our life. The words we use in our prayer of surrender are not as important as the act of surrendering. The secret is to simply let God be God in our life.

Our Heavenly Father is not hindered by time and does not live within its parameters as we do. His plan for each of our lives is the only path that will bring us ultimate fulfillment. As we focus on the eternal matters of life and allow the temporal aspects to take a back seat, we live more serenely and the negative trials do not affect us as strongly. Sure, the path may be twisted, steep, rocky and even treacherous at times, but He holds us in the palm of His hand.

God uses these trials to work His character into our lives. Even Jesus learned obedience to the Father through the things that He suffered (Hebrews 5:8). We can be sure that the end result of our progress in our trials will be a peaceful life full of hope and joy. As we seek God and His kingdom first, He gives us everything we need as we need it. In the path God chose for us, we can let His light shine through us, so that everyone around us can see that our kindness, compassion and patience come from Him. This causes them to give Him the glory for His work in our life.

For instance, as we trust in His provision and protection and enjoy his mercy and grace, we live a life that is blessed and meaningful. This example stirs the hearts of unbelievers to join us in our journey with God; so they too can have the peace we exhibit, even with an insecure and troubled world all around us. Our will becomes one with God’s will as He changes us from glory to glory into His own image (2 Corinthians 3:18).

Prayer:
Lord God, You knew us before we were even born, and You chose us to be conformed into the image of Your Son. He is the firstborn and we are His many brothers and sisters (Romans 8:29). Help us to remember that You chose the path for our life long before You ever created the world. We find fullness of joy when we walk in Your ways and stay on Your path for us.

Thought for the Day:
God and Satan both have a plan for your life. The one you choose to embrace affects the rest of your life.
