Not Limiting God

Believers are actually foreigners here on this earth, because this is not our permanent home (John 17:16-18). We are camping out in this tent of flesh, until God calls us home (2 Corinthians 5:1). Our eternal life starts at Salvation, because it is simply an intimate relationship with God and with Jesus, whom He sent to restore us to Himself (John 17:3).

Satan no longer has dominion over us due to Jesus defeating Him and sin and death at His resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:57). God redeemed us through Christ and He purifies our life through sanctification (Titus 2:14; Galatians 3:13; Psalm 66:10). The only limits placed on God are those we impose on Him by our unbelief, because with God all things are possible, if we only believe (Luke 1:37).

In the Christian walk, we surrender our life, goals and plans to God's will for us. We do not make plans and ask God to bless them, because this limits God and what He wants to accomplish through us. God does not want us to work for Him. He gives us the opportunity to give Him control over our life, so that Christ can live in us and work through us (Galatians 2:20: Colossians 3:3).

Jesus does this through His Holy Spirit, whom we receive at salvation. God's Spirit dwells in us and fills us with His wisdom and power (Romans 8:9; Acts 1:8). We take our focus off the things in this life, because we realize that our citizenship is actually in Heaven (Ephesians 2:19; Philippians 3:19-21). This allows us the privilege of dwelling with God for eternity as His adopted children (Ephesians 1:5).

Prayer:
Father God, we long for the day in which we can live under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, with the government on His shoulders (Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 11:13-16). Thank You for using creation to preach the gospel to anyone willing to see Your truth (Romans 1:20). In fact, the rocks will cry out if we fail to tell the world of Your love (Luke 19:40). Remind us to faithfully share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with anyone willing to listen. We thank You for redeeming us, for freeing us from the bondage of Satan, death and sin, and for making us part of Your family of Saints. We look forward to You living in us as Your Body for as many years as You have us on this earth; and then living with You, and knowing You even more intimately as the Bride of Christ throughout eternity.

Thought for the Day:
God makes us a holy city and sets us on a hill, so that the whole world can see Him in us (Matthew 5:14-16). We do not belong in this world; we are simply passing through.

Unfailing Love

All creation tells of God's glory, and no one has an excuse not to believe in Him, because of the beauty and marvel of nature (Psalm 19:1; Romans 1:20). All of nature praises God. The trees and rivers sing for joy and clap their hands (Psalm 92:12, 98:8; Isaiah 55:12; 1 Chronicles 16:33). Even the rocks will cry out in praise to God, if His people fail to exalt Him (Luke 19:40).

God is righteous and demands perfection; yet He proved His love to us by sending His only son to pay the debt for our sins. Jesus also gave us His perfect righteousness (John 3:16-18; 2 Corinthians 5:21). God always forgives our transgressions and redeems us from our sins (Psalm 130:8: 1 John 1:9). God is an awesome God and He reigns in heaven and on earth (Psalm 68:35, 47:8).

God is a mighty warrior on our behalf. We find our contentment in His presence in our life (2 Chronicles 16:9; Zephaniah 3:17). Even if the earth quakes and volcanoes shatter the mountains, God's unfailing love for His people will never be shaken. His promise of peace will never be taken away from us (Isaiah 54:10). God's love for us is unconditional (Romans 5:8; Psalm 86:15).

His love does not rely on our behavior, but on His commitment to all of those who hope in Him (Psalm 33:22). God actually takes pleasure in those who trust in His steadfast love (Psalm 147:11). As we hope in God's affection for us, He keeps His eye on us (Psalm 33:18). We are never alone and He never leaves us or forsakes us (Hebrews 13:5). Since He loved us before we ever loved Him, we can also love one another (1 John 4:9-11).

Prayer:
Father God, we are more than conquerors in life because of Your love for us. Once we put our trust in You, nothing could ever separate us from Your love, which You give us through Christ Jesus, our Lord (Romans 8:37-39). You are rich in mercy. You made us alive spiritually along with Jesus, because of your love for us (Ephesians 2:4-5). Thank you for caring about every detail of our life (1 Peter 5:6-7).

Thought for the Day:
God's plan for authentic Believers is to prosper us, never to harm us and to give us hope for our future. - Jeremiah 29:11

Living to the Praise of His Name

When we praise God, the angels, all of nature on this earth, as well as all of the heavenly bodies, join us in praising His name. They know that God spoke a word and created them. All of God’s creation praises Him. If human beings fail to praise Him, the rocks will cry out in praise in our place (Luke 19:40). God forbid! We have so much to praise God for, to speak of His unending glory and power until everyone we know, knows about God’s mighty deeds and glorious Kingdom.

Yet, we humans are too smart for our own good. We take credit for all that we have, and deny God’s existence in our thoughts, words and deeds (Psalm 148:1-6). Yet, we blossom when we trust in the Lord, rather than in our understanding. As we seek Him before we do anything, He will show us what to do and where to go (Proverbs 3:5:7). His dominion over the earth is from everlasting to everlasting (Psalm 145:10-13); yet, He freely gives us His loving kindness every day of our life.

God is our fortress, our tower and our shield. He delivers the humble when we take refuge in Him (Psalm 144:2; 147:6). Apart from Jesus we can do nothing (John 15:5). However, when we believe in, hope in and trust in Jesus, we are more than conquerors over the flesh, the devil and world (Romans 8:37). We live in His presence with contentment and joy. We mirror His image to the world around us, and He gives us victory and hope all the days of our life.

God no longer sees our life of sin, but only the righteousness of Christ in us. We trust in Jesus, who is the Word of Truth and the Gospel of our Salvation. We trust only in Jesus and receive the Holy Spirit as God’s deposit, which guarantees our eternal inheritance. We are sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise, and are God’s personal possession. We daily use our body, soul and spirit for the glory of His name (Ephesians 1: 13-14).

Prayer:
Father God, Satan has no more authority or influence over our thoughts, words or deeds. The blood of Your Lamb redeemed us and set us free (1 Peter 1:19; John 8:36). We have a multitude of reasons to praise You. It will take a lifetime to express to You the love, peace and joy You give to us. We live each moment of our life with Your praises on our lips; and we tell everyone who will listen that You love us so much that, even while we were still sinners, you died for us (Romans 5:6-8).

Thought for the Day:
Let us live to the praise and the glory of God’s name. – Psalm 66:2
