Spiritual Nourishment

As I munched on a bowl of organicly grown Shredded Wheat, I thought about my spiritual food coming from God's Word (2 Peter 1:20-21). I can feed my body with grain from the earth, but my spirit needs the nourishment that is found only in the scriptures.

I grabbed my Bible and started reading where I left off the day before (Matthew 4:4). Again, it gave me the insight and encouragement that I needed for this new day (2 Peter 1:3).

The Bible always supplies a lamp to light our way in this dark and dreary world (Psalm 119:105). The verses give us courage, peace and strength to do God’s will for each moment of our day.

God's Word is alive (Hebrews 4:12-13); and the more we read its absolute truth, the more it empowers our life with wisdom, joy and truth. The Bible is a friend that sticks closer than a brother; it never fails to encourage and nourish our soul and spirit.

We can trust our life to the understanding we receive as we immerse our self in the truth of God's Word. The fulfilled Biblical prophecies give us comfort to know that God will execute the remaining prophecies with as much literal accuracy as He accomplished those in the past.

Jesus alone fulfilled over 300 Biblical prophecies with an accuracy that is impossible to bring about in any way other than supernaturally.

He will fulfill even more prophecies when He comes for His Bride; and again when He returns to the earth to rule and reign, with the government on His shoulders (1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:22; Isaiah 9:6).

Prayer:
Father God, the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy proves to us the inerrancy of Your Word. This gives us the hope that every Word was inspired by You, and we can trust in Your promises for our life and gain our spiritual nourishment for our daily existence from each verse.

You give us our daily bread each day, not only spiritually in Your Word, but also physically by providing the finances and means to buy food to eat and to joys and treasures to minister to our soul - our thoughts, feelings and choices. Help us to be ever mindful that You created us for Your purpose and that Jesus is our whole life (Ephesians 2:10; Colossians 3:3-4).

Thought for the Day:
We stand on God's Word, knowing that He never abandons us on this earth; and He gives us His Spirit and His Word to encourage us and to give us hope even in our darkest days.
