At salvation, Jesus redeems us and regenerates our spirit. Then the Spirit of our holy God spends our lifetime transforming us into the likeness of Jesus by renewing our soul – our thoughts, emotions, choices and goals - into His (Romans 12:2; Ephesians 4:23).
His Godly character and divine nature replace our fleshly carnality and our whole personality changes. We can discard the negative attitudes about our self that we accumulated over our lifetime. We also stop shaming, degrading and condemning our self (Romans 8:1).
Not that we allow Satan to puff us up with spiritual pride (Galatians 6:3; James 1:26), but we gain our value now through our faith in Christ in us (Romans 12:3; 1 Corinthians 2:16). We are His hands and feet in this world in which we live. We greet each day with confidence, joy, hope and excitement because the Trinity of God abides within us (Galatians 2:20; Proverbs 23:7).
When we keep our focus on God’s will for our life, rather than on our own goals and agenda, He floods our soul with His perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Living out of our union with His Trinity within us, we increase in our devotion to Him. We stop wasting our time by making our own plans, and we start to allow God to direct our steps (Proverbs 16:7).
We worry less, pray more, and have more abiding peace and joy. We learn contentment and rest in His ability to communicate to us everything that we need to know to walk in His perfect plans for us (Ephesians 2:10). God fills us with the wisdom, relationship, and truths of His Son within us (Philippians 3:10; John 14:6; 1 Corinthians 1:30).
Prayer:
Father God, thank You for giving us Your Word, that divides the personal thoughts of our soul from the truth in our spirit of Your intents for us (Hebrews 4:12). We no longer rely on our human fulfillment, talents and potential, but on the leading of Your Holy Spirit to guide our thoughts, emotions and choices (Proverbs 23:7; Matthew 12:35).
Remind us to love You with our whole heart, not to rely on our mortal resources, to consult You every moment of our life, to enter Your rest, and to trust in Your goodness and grace. When we focus on earthly aspects, we reap death; however, when we focus on spiritual truths, You fill our soul with life, joy and serenity (Colossians 3:2; Romans 8:5-6; Philippians 4:7-8).
Thought for the Day:
As authentic Born Again Believers, we are blessed to concentrate on Christ within us, and His spiritual greatness and power infiltrates every part of our being; we decrease in our efforts to work for God, and empty our self of our self until we are filled with the divine nature of Jesus and the fruit of His Holy Spirit.
