Hearing from God

Satan hates authentic Born Again Believers, because we spend each moment of our day listening to God’s Spirit and obeying His promptings.

The devil's only recourse is to plant doubts in our mind about whether or not the thought in our mind is from God. We analyze the leading and often decide it is only our human thought.

Then, we end up in confusion and even regret, because we missed a great opportunity designed just for us by our loving Heavenly Father. We can quickly repent and then hear from God for our next moment.

When the thought is from God, His Holy Spirit who abides in us gives us His peace deep within our spirit. If there is any doubt or unrest in our spirit, we stop and wait on God to clarify His will for the moment.

The Spirit and the Word never disagree. If the thought in our mind is not confirmed by the Bible, then it is not of God. Satan will attempt to twist scriptures or make us distrust God’s Word.

As children of God, we do not live in fear or confusion, but in love - with spiritual power and a stable mind (Romans 8:4; 2 Timothy 1:7). Walking in God’s Will keeps us from having the anxiety and stress of a hectic pace.

God’s presence within us assures us of His will. His omniscience, omnipotence and omnipresence guide us throughout our life, so that we can honor God in our thoughts, words and actions (Proverbs 1:7).

Prayer:
Father God, we dwell in You as our sanctuary (Isaiah 8:13-14). You are our comfort and delight. We look forward to serving You each day and enjoying Your presence now and in eternity.

You give us wisdom and direction each moment of our day, so that we can abide in Your presence. You strengthen us, help us and lift us up by Your mighty right hand (Isaiah 41:10).

Thought for the Day:
Living in the Spirit is a life of security, peace and fulfillment.

Our Benefits as a Christ Follower

Christianity does not make us superior to anyone else. It simply initiates our spiritual birth and brings fulfillment into our life.

As we mature, Christ becomes our whole life (Colossians 3:4). We have confidence and security in Christ (Galatians 2:20). He abides within us and knows us better than we know our self (Colossians 1:27).

God may withhold from us some of the desires of our heart, because they are not in His plan for us at this time.

As we trust and obey, He fills us entirely with His love, joy and peace, and we overflow with assurance and hope through His Spirit (Romans 15:13).

When we insist on our own way, God allows us to fail, in order to teach us to wait on Him and His will, rather than pursuing our own will for our life.

God is working out His plan for us each moment of our day. If we follow the direction of God's Spirit for our day, our efficiency increases and our stress level decreases.

He teaches us to cooperate with His Body in order to increase our productivity for His Kingdom (1 Corinthians 12:12-27). God supplies all of our needs and leads us by His Spirit as we concede to His will (Proverbs 3:5-6).

He gives us one day at a time to prevent us from worrying about the past and fearing the future. He quiets us with His love and rejoices over us with singing (Zephaniah 3:17).

At times, we may feel idle and useless, or that God is not speaking to us. However, these are the times of companionable silence, which God enjoys with His Saints.

Our Father God demonstrated His love for us by becoming man to pay the penalty of our sins (Romans 5:8). He finds pleasure in an intimate relationship with each of us.

Prayer:
Father God, You consider us as Your friends, children, holy nation, royal priests, Your own possession and chosen people (John 15:13-17; 1 John 3:2; 1 Peter 2:9). You will not allow any tribulation or distress, life or death, angels or principalities, the present or future, or any created thing to separate us from Your love, which dwells in us through Christ Jesus, our Lord (Romans 8:35-39).

Help us not to fail one another, wound each other deeply or cause anyone to stumble and fall away from You. Teach us to love one another as You love each of us.

Thought for the Day:
Living in the center of God's will is the happiest place on earth; our enjoyment is amplified and our sorrows diminished as we maintain an eternal focus, rather than a temporal one. - Isaiah 26:3

God's Deliverance

When we seek the Lord, He delivers us from all of our fears. Regardless of our circumstances, when we praise God in them, He will deliver us from them.

As we bless the Lord at all times, His praises are continually in our heart, mind and words. We magnify Him as we worship His name together as His Body.

God helps us out of all of our troubles. His mighty angels camp out around us to deliver us from harm. When we look to the Lord for our help, we release our fears and worries and the relief shows on our face and in our body language.

When we trust in Him, we are continually blessed. As we boast in the Lord, everyone else who serves Him will also rejoice right along with us.

When we revere the Lord, we lack for nothing that we need. God's eyes are upon us as we live for Him. He always hears our cries for His help, and He delivers us from all of our difficulties.

We are content with God's will for our life. We run from evil and keep our tongue from speaking evil. We seek peace and pursue a lifestyle that provides us with tranquility.

When we feel remorse for our sins and are brokenhearted over the fact that we grieved the Lord, He draws near to us. Through all of our trials, He is there to carry us out of them all.

Our soul continually rejoices in God our Savior. This is our pathway to enter God's rest (Hebrews 4:10). We do not depend on human reasoning and observations, but on the leading of God's Spirit.

Prayer:
Father God, throughout our lifetime, we develop attitudes and opinions, which affect our choices. They are birthed from the input we receive into our life from others, from experiences and from our observations.

You want us to exchange those attitudes and opinions for Your Truth (Philippians 2:5, 3:15). Thank You for giving us Your Spirit to transform the carnal appetites of our soul by renewing our mind into the mind of Christ (Romans 12:2; Ephesians 4:23).

Thought for the Day:
God's Spirit delivers us from the hindrance of pride, which keeps us from knowing God. He captures our defiant attitudes and opinions and teaches us to obey Christ.
- 2 Corinthians 10:5

Know That He is God

God brought Israel out of the bondage of Egypt to give them the promised Canaan Land. Even after that miraculous deliverance, the Isrealites discounted the benefits of their freedom from bondage. They missed the delicacies of Egypt. They forgot that their 40 years of wandering were the result of their disobedience to enter the land after God delivered them from Pharoah’s army.

Even after that disobedient generation died, the next generation also despised God’s provision for them. Our Father God wants to provide a blessed life for us, as we follow His will during each of our days. We may not have the delicacies of this world, but we will have more than we need. God desires for our focus to change from self-reliance to reliance on Him for everything.

The more we take our eyes off our self and focus them clearly on the Lord, the more peace we experience in our life. We have no idea what God is capable of doing and providing for us until we put our total trust in Him. He is faithful and worthy of our faith in Him. He often provides our needs before we even ask Him. He cares about every area of our life.

Sometimes, we demand blessings from God. We attempt to hold Him over a barrel, as if we have something to bargain with that God actually wants. God does not want us to grasp at the gifts He is waiting to supply. He wants us to sit still and know that He is God (Psalm 46:10). He wants us to wait with open arms to receive all that He has for us. He has a blessed life just waiting for us to receive.

Prayer:
Father God, our unbelief keeps us from entering Your promised land, just like it did the Israelites. Help us to relinquish the secret sins, which we think we cannot live without. We want to devote more time to seeking You than we do to pursuing an income, a family, our hobbies and our earthly priorities. Remind us to obey by faith instead of trusting only in what we can see with our natural senses. You will supply all of our needs, according to Your glorious riches, if we simply trust in You (Philippians 4:19).

Thought for the Day:
God gave His own life to ransom us from sin; yet, we defile His gift with our disobedience and rebellion.

Moving Those Mountains

It is so hard to overcome and to struggle through the issues we face in this world. We are forced out of our comfort zone and most of us despise change of any sort. The obstructive mountains loom before us. However, if we live in the moment, and not regret anything in the past or fear the unknown entities of the next moment, God will give us the grace to accomplish His will through each minute we live.

God’s Spirit abides in us and will not leave us for any reason (Deuteronomy 31:6). We can completely depend upon His mercy, grace, wisdom and strength to accomplish everything that is in His will for our life. If we strike out on our own without consulting God’s Will, that is just where we will remain – on our own. However, walking in the Spirit insures our success in every endeavor (Proverbs 3:5-6).

It is possible to live a joy-filled life, if we change the way we look at trials. They are actually an adventure in the Lord. If we look through our spiritual eyes of understanding, we will see His mighty hand removing every mountain that hinders us, even in the worst of situations, to give us a positive outcome (Romans 8:28). God works in us as we walk in the Spirit throughout the day.

No one who waits for God’s direction will end up humiliated or defeated. Only those who refuse to walk in His Will shall experience shame and defeat. He shows His Saints His ways and He teaches us how to walk on His paths. We hope in Him every moment of every day (Psalm 25:3-5). We trust that His ultimate plan provides for our advantages. Our only true salvation is from the Lord (Jonah 2:9).

Prayer:
Father God, when our soul – our thoughts, decisions and feelings – feel fearful and weary, if we remember to focus on You, to seek Your face and to pray, You will hear us from Your Holy Hill. We no longer cling to human reason and resources. We no longer forsake Your loving kindness by rejecting Your invitation to live in You. We live in thanksgiving for who You are and all You do for us throughout our life (Jonah 2:7-9).

Thought for the Day:
There is no one like Our God. He is mighty in power and we revere Him. He is the true and might King over every single nation for all time. – Jeremiah 10:6-7
