The Spirit of Truth

 Body of Water during Dawn

Jesus told His disciples that He had to go away in order for the Comforter to come (John 16:7). The physical manifestation of Christ on the earth is no longer with us, but He resides by His Spirit in the spirit of every Believer.

He is no longer limited only to each place He could walk, but is free to function in the life of every Believer in every city in the entire world through centuries of time (Matthew 28:18-20).

God's Spirit leads us into all truth (John 16:13), keeps us in the center of God's will, removes from us the penchant to sin and sanctifies us until we exhibit the nature and character of Christ to the world around us (2 Thessalonians 2:13).

We walk in His victory over death and sin, as we deny the lusts of the flesh and walk instead by His direction, pleasing Him in all that we think, say and do (Galatians 5:16-25).

God sees our heart from heaven, and He is not impressed. The human heart is deceitful and wicked at best (Jeremiah 17:9). Humanity, as a whole, turns away from God and are corrupt (Psalm 14:2-3).

The only way a person is truly good is when God's Spirit abides within his/her spirit through believing on and trusting in Jesus Christ, our Savior and King. Otherwise, our best behavior is equated with "filthy rags" (Isaiah 46:6).

Only those who hunger and thirst for God's righteousness and cry out to Him for wisdom and insight can ever hope to attain anything of lasting value in this life (Matthew 5:6; Proverbs 2:3-5).

Prayer:
Father God, Your ways are perfect and Your Word contains no flaws or inconsistencies. You are our shield and we all take refuge in You (2 Samuel 22:31). When Your Spirit of truth comes into our life, we resolve past conflicts, which we used to deny and ignore.

Your Spirit heals the consequences of the trauma of our past, frees us from the devastation of the trials of each day and gives us courage to face the fears of the future. We can now live empowered by Your Spirit each moment of the day until You call us Home and our soul and spirit unite with You in our gloried body.

Thought for the Day:
Anyone who is willing to believe in Jesus as their Savior and Lord will receives rivers of living water flowing from their innermost being, which will quench the insatiable thirst in their life, and they will see spiritual fruit flourishing as carnal, sinful fruit diminishing over the years. - John 7:38
