God originally created
Paradise for us as our home. Adam and Eve's choice to discount God's blessings
is what deprived them, and the rest of humanity, from living in total peace and
fulfillment in that beautiful, peaceful garden.
So many people disregard this
truth, and they curse God when their life takes a turn for the worse. They
blame God if they lose a loved one, suffer loss from inclement weather, get
fired from their job, lose their home from a fire, etc.
God loves us so much, that He
birthed His only Son, so that Jesus could pay our sin-debt and give us His
eternal life (John 3:16-18). Even in this sin-cursed world, God is willing to
turn around the worst circumstances for our good (Job 42:10).
God also provides us with faith
to shield us from the devil's lies and deception. As we trust the Lord, Satan's
discouragement and distractions cannot lure us away from serving God with our
whole heart, mind and strength (Luke 10:27).
God gives us the helmet of
salvation to take captive every negative thought (Ephesians 6:17; 2 Corinthians
12:5); He allows us the opportunity to put on the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians
2:16); and He gives us His Word as our sword to defeat Satan, just like Jesus
did in the wilderness (Luke 4:1-11).
Our loving Father reveals His
love to us right where we are. Out of our suffering, He forges His strength in
our spirit. He also blesses us in our soul with both His Godly character and the
divine nature of Christ (2 Peter 1:4).
Prayer:
Father God, rather than
doubting Your goodness, Your authentic Believers trust You with our whole heart.
We gradually stop depending on our own understanding, and we acknowledge You in
all of our decisions (Proverbs 3:5-6). We stay in the safety of Your straight and narrow road. We revel in Your presence in our life, because You bring us
comfort, rest and direction.
We pray for those who are
doubting Your goodness and struggling with life's trials and tribulation
without You in their life. Please put salve on their wounds, heal their heart
and give them the hope that only comes by having You as our Rock.
Thought for the Day:
When Satan attacks us with loss,
plagues and physical illness in order to break us and make us curse God and
die, we can follow Job's example of trusting God's eternal goodness.

42:10
