Focusing on Spiritual Aspects of Life

Lake and Mountain Under White Sky

Every human being ever born has the choice to allow the Son of God to be revealed in us, as well as to destroy sin and the works of the devil in us (1 John 3:8). If we choose to live a life of sin, instead of choosing to commit our life to the Savior of our soul, we join the ranks of the devil and those fallen angels who sinned from the beginning (John 3:18).

God brings us to life through a union and fellowship with Jesus, who saves us by His grace (Ephesians 2:5). This allows us to partake of the life and divine nature of Christ within us, to escape the confines and destruction of sinful lusts, and to hold fast to Him as we endure to the end of our life (1 Peter 1:4; Hebrews 3:14).

When we are truly born of God, we have no desire to sin, because His seed of Salvation remains in us. Actually, we are unable to habitually sin, because we are now born of God (1 John 3:9). God circumcises us by cutting away our fleshly goals and ideals, and this allows us to overcome the need to sin (Colossians 2:11).

We are God’s adopted children. His tabernacle is within us and He dwells with us for all of eternity. We are His very own Saints. The Amazing God of the universe is our God. We are immersed in and filled with the Trinity of God – the Father, Son and Spirit (Revelation 21:3) – with all of the wisdom, power and guidance that we need to succeed in life.

God protects us as His own adopted children, and Satan cannot tempt us beyond that which God helps us to overcome (1 John 5:18; 1 Corinthians 10:13). We are buried with Jesus through baptism into death, so that Christ can raise us to walk as a new creation in a renewed life in Him, and Him in us (Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12).

Everything that we do, even if it is as simple as what we eat, drink and wear, we do it all for God’s glory (1 Corinthians 10:31). We live a life of gratitude and praise to our Father God, because He renews our spirit as fit partakers of the inheritance that He prepared for Jesus.

Prayer:

Father God, we are so grateful that we are Your Saints, that we walk in Your light, and that we can now focus on seeking the immortal, spiritual aspects of life. This enables us to sit with Jesus at Your right hand (Colossians 1:12, 3:1). You entrusted us to Jesus, and He desires to have us with Him, and to share with us the glory that You gave Him for His faithfulness through the cross (John 17:24).

We realize that we are one with Jesus and with You, and Jesus is not ashamed to call us His brothers and sisters (John 17:21; Hebrews 2:11). When Christ lives within us, we are members of His Body – His flesh and His bones (Hebrews 5:30). We are joined as one spirit with Your Trinity (1 Corinthians 6:17). Thank You for delivering us from the powers of darkness and for transforming us into Your dear begotten Son’s Kingdom of light (Colossians 1:13).

Thought for the Day:

We have our reward in holiness through Jesus, who provides us with eternal life, delivered us out of the hand of the devil, and gives us the power to serve Him without fear all the days of our life; we are set free from Satan’s Kingdom of darkness and are now slaves of God rather than slaves of sin.
