The Fullness of Christ within Us

Pine Trees Under Blue Sky during Golden Hour

God Himself took on a human form and came to die on our behalf – to set us free from the devastation of a bondage to sin and depravity, and to invite us into His Kingdom of glorious light (Colossians 1:13). This was no easy task for the humanity of Jesus, because He suffered and was tempted in all the ways that we are (Hebrews 4:15; Isaiah 53:3).

However, His example gives us hope. With the Trinity of God abiding within us, we are capable of walking and living just like Jesus did. We can submit our humanity to the glory of God in us, as we allow His Spirit to equip us with His nature by having His mindset as our own (Philippians 2:5-8).

Servanthood and obedience are the key ingredients in the example that the life of Jesus gives us. He kept His focus on heaven throughout His entire life, and the things of this world had no sway on His thoughts, words and behavior. His unconditional love is also our example.

We develop our spiritual concept of life from His example for us. We see life’s disguises and surprises for what they really are. These anomalies no longer effect our choices and mindset, because we have the glory of Christ abiding within us. Negative thoughts and emotions give way to a new way of living (Colossians 1:27; Philippians 4:8).

Yet, some people choose to reject all that Christ represents. They reduce Him down in their concept and opinion as a simple good and wise man, maybe as a prophet, or a reincarnation of some major Jewish patriarch; these dear, yet misguided, people condemn themselves to eternal deprivation (Matthew 16:13-14; John 3:18).

It is only as God enlightens our mind to His truth, that we accept Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the living God. He gives us all of His wisdom, power, righteousness, and spiritual authority as our own. We can live our life walking in His Spirit, consulting Him for His plans for every moment of our day, and for serving and obeying Him with our whole heart, soul, mind and strength (Matthew 16:15-19; Mark 12:30).

Prayer:

Father God, strengthen our inner being (Ephesians 3:16-19) to see You as You are – without our human limitations and prejudices preventing us from the whole truth of what it means for Your Trinity to abide within us (Hebrews 2:14-15; Colossians 1:27). We want to walk in Your fullness, so that we can live a spiritually deeper life, and eternally affect our world for Your name’s sake.

Help us to overcome the limitations we assume to be ours as human beings, and to see the awesome limitless potential we have once Christ comes to abide within us (Galatians 2:20). Teach us what it means for our entire perspective on life to change once we embrace the truth about the deeper, union life of Christ in us. We want to walk in Your truth rather than in the traditions, philosophy, practices, and inadequacies of this earthly existence.

Thought for the Day:

We are no longer slaves to sin, we have Christ’s righteousness as our own, we are one with Him in spirit, we crucify the desires of our flesh and the philosophies of this world, we are able to walk in love, and we make Christ the focus of our whole life.
