Who Is Jesus Christ?

We hear about Jesus Christ as we grow up in Sunday School class; or if we are in a non-traditional denomination or an unchurched family, we may never hear about Him at all - except as a curse word.

Actually, Jesus is the Perfect One of Israel. The Holy Spirit conceived Him in Mary's womb in order to provide the world with a perfect sacrificial "lamb" to pay for the sins of every man, woman and child ever born on this earth (Romans 5:8; Isaiah 7:14).

Jesus also came to reveal our Father God to us. He said that if we have seen Him, we have also seen the Father - they are one person in one Trinity (John 10:30, 14:9-11). Jesus is the physical manifestation of the Spirit of God.

He commands the elements of nature on land, in the sky and in the seas; and they obey Him. Everything and everyone is created through Him; and He occupies the spirit of everyone who cares to totally submit to Him.

Jesus allows us to come into His presence and to enjoy a personal relationship with Him. At times, this familiarity breeds taking Him for granted; and in some who believe Satan's lies about the Trinity, it breeds contempt.

As we discover more and more about the world around us, our awe of nature may decrease; but God continually proves to us how small our little planet is in the vast scheme of His mighty creation.

This awesome God sent His firstborn heir, Jesus Christ, into the world to pay the penalty of the sins of the entire world. This gives us the opportunity to accept His gift to us as heirs as well. We experience our spirit's rebirth, which was formerly dead in the sins of Adam and Eve.

Now all He asks of us is to serve Him with our entire body, soul and spirit (James 2:20). He takes all of the guesswork out of His will by showing us His pre-ordained plan for our life (Ephesians 2:8-10).

Prayer:
Father God, I am poor and needy. Make haste to me. You are my help and my deliverer. O Lord, do not delay. I have friends and children who are not following hard after You. My heart breaks for them. Help them to surrender all of their ways to You.

When I consider that they are forfeiting Your peace and joy in their lives right now, as well as reaping the eternal damnation and torment of their unbelief, I weep. My heart and my soul ache for them. They are choosing to forfeit their eternal reward, that comes only when they trust in Jesus for their salvation, for the momentary pleasures of this life (Psalm 70:5).

Thought for the Day:
As we wait upon the Lord, He makes all things beautiful in His own time; He alone is worthy of our praise, and His Spirit is the only One who can truly touch the hearts of our unsaved family, neighbors and friends.
