As we
increase in our devotion to God and wait patiently for Him, He gives us a new
song to sing. We no longer wallow in self-pity or hide in fear.
Regardless
of our circumstances, we sing this new song of praise to our God (Psalm 33:3, 40:3).
We use instruments to worship Him in the sanctuary (Psalm 144:9).
When we
trust in God alone, we are blessed beyond description (Psalm 40:4). Our whole life
sings of God's bounty and many will see what He does for us and be amazed. This
will encourage them to put their trust in the Lord as well (Psalm 64:9).
God delivers
us from the pit of destruction and out of quick sand and sets our feet on solid
ground. He places us upon the Rock of Christ and makes our footsteps firm
(Psalm 40:2).
Our eternal
hymn of praise gives glory to the Lamb who is worthy to take the scroll, open
its seals and bring God's vengeance on the nations who turn their back on Him
(Revelation 5:9).
By His
sacrifice on Calvary's cross, Jesus purchased a people for God from every tribe,
tongue and nation who would live in praise to our Father (Jeremiah 33:9).
We also sing
His praises, because our heart trusts in His ever present help in our life. We
are so full of praise that we continually thank Him with our new song (Psalm
28:7, 33:3, 96:1).
Prayer:
Father God,
we bless You with our whole heart, soul and mind. With everything that is in
us, we bless Your holy name (Psalm 103:1-5). We continually praise You - in the
good times and in the bad (Psalm 34:1-8). We shout for joy and are glad for
Your righteousness the changes us from the inside out (Psalm 35:33, 52:6).
Use our life
to help others to honor You with their life too, and help all of us to declare
Your goodness to our friends, relatives, associates and neighbors (Psalm
64:9-10). As we praise You, You release our soul from the prison of
circumstances (Psalm 142:7).
Thought for
the Day:
God is our
hiding place and He preserves us from trouble; He surrounds our life with songs
of deliverance (Psalm 32:7); we sing His praises from the ends of the earth and
all of nature joins us (Isaiah 42:10, 55:12).
