God knows us from our inception
in our mother's womb (Jeremiah 1:5; Psalm 139: 13-16). He has intricately
formed us and has an ultimate plan for our life (Ephesians 2:10). We simply
accept His love by faith, and walk in His truth as we fulfill His will for our
life.
He is a personal God, knowing us
by name (Isaiah 43:1-2). He even knows the number of hairs on our head (Luke
12:7). He rejoices over us with singing (Zephaniah 3:17). He calls us His
friend (John 15:15). He enjoys our fellowship, our worship and our love and
adoration.
The devil's favorite trick is to
whisper lies to our mind that we believe as true, even if the concept is
contrary to Biblical Truth. Some of his favorite lies are to convince us that
we are "not enough", worthless, shameful, too bad for God to redeem,
etc.
These false perceptions keep us
in bondage all of our life until we realize that God loved us enough to take on
a human form and to pay the penalty for all of our sinful inclinations and
actions while we are still sinners (Ephesians 3:18-19; Romans 5:8).
A valuable exercise is to write
in our journal whenever we feel our heart condemning us about any issue,
attitude or activity. We can compare these feelings with scriptures to deduce whether
God is convicting us or Satan is condemning us (Romans 8:1-2).
Quickly replacing the devil's
lies with God's truth will allow us to change our perspective about how God
feels about us. This helps us to change our attitude as well. We spend our time
praising God for His provision, love and for who He is (Psalm 103:1-5).
We are valuable in the site of
the Lord, which is the reason that He chose to lay down His life for each of us
individually. We are the apple of His eye (John 3:16-17; Zechariah 2:8).
Prayer:
Father God, You give us value as
Your Saints. As we sit in Your presence, reveal our thoughts and false beliefs
that Satan uses to debilitate us and to keep us from living in Your freedom.
Give us the courage to stand against his lies and reveal to us Your Truth about
each of his fabricated concepts (2 Corinthians 10:5).
You give us an eternal
perspective in this life, so that we gather our concept of our value from Your
Word rather than from people and demonic opinions and perceptions. Thank You
for your sacrificial love for each one of us, for cherishing our relationship
with You in life and in death (Psalm 115:16), and for providing for us a place
with You for eternity.
Thought for the Day:
God sets us free from the bondage
of Satan's lies and gives us His peace, love and joy in place of our negative
thoughts and emotions. - John 8:36
