Scientists
and doctors agree that our subconscious mind affects us in many ways. The
subconscious is part of our soul - our thoughts, emotions and choices - that we
ignore most of the time. Yet, this concept is very revealing in regards to the
cause of many of our views, feelings, words and deeds.
Our
subconscious records events in our life, our beliefs both past and present, our
emotions which are the result of happy, sad, and fearful moments that we experienced,
as well as our skills and motives of which we are not consciously aware.
The
Subconscious affects us every day of our life, but most of us do not know or
understand how this occurs. Both beneficial and evil experiences alter our
opinion of our self, as well as they influence our mental, emotional and
physical health.
We
all have very influential, buried memories that we have consciously forgotten. We
automatically express and execute ideas that are generated from our
subconscious mind, and we often find our self wondering why we say something,
or behave, or react in the way that we do.
So
much of what we believe, express, react to, and accomplish from our conscious
mind has little effect on our subconscious; however, our subconscious is, sadly,
very effective in quietly altering our conscious mind on a daily basis.
These
concepts turn on us in the form of addictions and bad habits caused by debilitating
"self-talk" and inspired by the words and actions of people from our past,
as well as the lies of the devil. The good news is that God is intensely interested
in healing the wounds that we buried in our subconscious mind.
The
reality of eternity is the only solution to these negative issues. Our Father
God gradually heals us by giving us the wisdom and influence of His Word, by
providing us with His Spirit, and by supplying us with the power in the name
and blood of Jesus.
God
sanctifies us by exchanging our troubled thoughts with the mind of Christ in us
(Philippians 2:2-6). This provides us with His power, love and sound mind, which
forever change us from the inside out (2 Timothy 1:7). Our soul fills with His
joy and peace, which improve our life.
As
we spend time in God's presence, He reveals the origin of disparaging comments
that we believe about our self, and then He relates to us His truth, which
replaces those lies completely and irrevocably. Find

Prayer:
Father
God, thank You for giving us negative emotions that reveal to us that something
is wrong in our spirit, soul or body. Teach us how to seek Your discernment and
to discover the underlying beliefs that color our world in dark hues. We feel
resentful, angry, afraid, etc. because of our underlying brokenness, attitudes,
emotions and weariness.
However,
Your Holy Spirit gives us discernment and wisdom concerning these
entanglements, and when Christ in us sets us free, we are eternally free indeed
(Galatians 5:1; John 8:36). Thank You that after You reveal Your truth to us,
the past traumatic events stop negatively effecting us and have no more power
over us. Thank You also for replacing them with Your eternal truth, which is
easily entreated and full of the fruit of Your Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).
Thought
for the Day:
Rather
than allowing negative emotions to control our thoughts, choices and emotions,
we can submit them to the Lordship of Christ in us; this allows Him to show us
His Truth, which makes a difference in us and in our world, so that we can be
more intimate in our relationships and more effective for His eternal Kingdom.
