Abundant Living

White and Red Flower Shallow Focus Photography

God provides every authentic Believer with abundant life (John 10:10). Jesus sacrificed throughout all of His earthly life in order to provide us with this blessing (Isaiah 53:3). God’s Spirit fills us, guides us, comfort us and communicates with us.

The Holy Spirit matures us spiritually and grows us in the grace and knowledge of all that God means to us (2 Peter 3:18). He moves us beyond the mire of sinful desires (Romans 7) into the abundant life that Jesus provided for us by His death, resurrection and ascension (Romans 8).

Worldly philosophy attempts to explain our world through human logic and intellectualism. Their rational boundaries and finite reasoning limit the extent to which their imaginations can rise. However, in the spiritual realm, God’s ways are higher than our ways, and often beyond our comprehension (Ephesians 3:19-20; Isaiah 55:8).

His plan began before He created the cosmos (Revelation 13:8) and will continue throughout eternity, long after science and human philosophy fade away. The finite will have to give way to the infinite. Eternal reality will prove the veracity of the Word of God.

The logical intellectual explanations for the origin and future of mankind, which cause more frustration and questions than solutions, will usually lead to more unanswered queries. Trying to put God in a box, where we try to dissect and figured Him out, leads one to insanity of reason.

There are concepts of God that are deep, unfathomable, and unable to be defined through any human reasoning (1 Corinthians 2:10; Romans 11:33). His unsearchable riches of Truth defy philosophers and scientists throughout the ages of time (11:33-36). His divine mystery is beyond explanation (Romans 16:25). He is God, after all.

Prayer:

Father God, we are so grateful that You are greater than our finite mind can explain. This way we cannot reduce You to some encyclopedic paragraph and forget that You exist. Every generation is full of geniuses that attempt to do so and fail. No amount of human “enlightenment” can grasp the multi-faceted riches of Your existence and Your interaction with the human race (Isaiah 55:8-9).

You reserve certain of Your Truths for us to wonder about, but You will reveal everything to us in eternity. We are given the opportunity to make our own choices about Your existence and the reality of Your Truths. You give us a free will to make the decision on our own, which often parts families into different ways of thinking. However, You want to spend eternity only with those who will worship You in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:24).

Thought for the Day:

We shudder to think that some in our family may spend eternity in hell, because of their own choices (John 3:18); but His Saints trust in God’s goodness and wisdom, because He reveals Himself to us even in creation.
