At times, we fill our day with so many chores, expectations and responsibilities that we leave God entirely out of the equation. Our energy is depleted, our soul is drained, and our bad attitude intensifies with each passing moment. We feel resentful and even angry, and this shows in our behavior and demeanor.
We fail to take the time to read and to meditate on God’s Word, we forget to praise Him for His multitude of blessing for us throughout the day, and we get irritable and start refusing to follow the guidance of His Spirit – choosing to do things our own way instead.
We respond negatively to our spouse, children, co-workers and even unsuspecting strangers in our path throughout the day. This wounds their soul, and makes them wonder what they did wrong, when it has nothing to do with them, and everything to do with our lack of submission to God’s plan for us.
We often use busyness to anesthetize our own wounded soul. Yet, our past experiences with other people continues to slowly erode our peace and joy. We cover our deep pain with demanding tasks in order to prevent our mind from thinking about and feeling our buried feelings.
God wants to provide us with resolution for these negative encounters, but we have to face them and bring them to Him in prayer in order for His healing to occur. Every day, we always feel this pain in our subconscious mind, and it influences all of our conscious thoughts, words and actions.
Therefore, taking an inventory of our current thoughts, which are influencing our present feelings, and seeking the Lord’s wisdom on the root cause of this pain, allows us to change our focus, mindset and beliefs about our self during each incident that enslaved us. God frees us from the bondage of these unhealthy encounters. - https://www.transformationprayer.org/preparing-journey-introduction/
Prayer:
Father God, please help us to see that the scars from our past cover unhealed wounds that cause this infection to influence our spirit, soul and body each day of our life. Teach us to balance our life to include focuseda time with You each day, so that You can heal these deep seeded issues. This will allow us to enjoy more of Your presence in our life, to experience more meaningful and pleasant interactions with other people, and it will help us to fulfill Your purpose for our life.
Assist us in walking in Your Spirit, and to forsake our attempts to control life in order to keep our self and our loved ones safe. Help us to be willing to heal our soul of wounds from the past, and to spend prayer time with You for this to happen. We completely trust in Your goodness, and we know without a doubt that You want to bless us with fulfilling experiences now and in eternity.
Thought for the Day:
God will help us to heal from our past woundedness and to look forward to His plans for us that lay ahead; He enables us to press on in order to reach His goals for us, and to receive the heavenly prize which He, through Christ Jesus, has planned for us.
