Our circumstances do not dictate our thoughts and feelings; however, they do influence and impact our thought life. Are our thoughts based on Biblical principles, or human feelings? Do we focus on the negative issues assailing us or choose a positive attitude regardless of our trials?
We make the choice. Our choices are not made for us. Regardless of circumstances, we choose how we view them. We can either “go with the flow” and trust God in and through them; or we can worry, stress, scheme, and strategize with our human reasoning.
Praying, or requesting prayer from our prayer warriors, does not indicate worry, fear, or stress. It is our outward manifestation of a heart that totally trusts that God will bring good out of the issues we face. God’s Word advises us that we do not have what we need, because we fail to ask our Heavenly Father for His help (James 4:3).
Each morning when we open our eyes, and every moment after that, we can choose joy (James 1:2). With the most horrific news, the most uncomfortable weather conditions, the deepest trauma we ever experienced, or a constant bombardment of one negative incident after another, we choose to trust in the Lord above all.
We can either allow bitterness to overtake us, or we can calmly sail through any storm by trusting God. Waiting patiently on the Lord’s direction or intervention, allows patience to have her perfect work in our soul (James 1:4-8). Patience switches our focus from fear to faith.
When we seek God first and consult Him for His plans for each moment of our day, He leads us by His Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:15-25). Our whole life shifts to a positive flow of events (Proverbs 3:5-6). Uncluttering our daily schedule gives us time to spend with God, family, and close friends.
Actively living in God’s presence allows us to experience abundant peace, consistent joy, and the outpouring of constant love from God’s Trinity within us. We want to remember to put God’s plans for us first in our life, as we live in the presence of His grace and unity with His Trinity within us.
Prayer:
Father God, teach us how to see and hear with our spiritual eyes and ears. We choose to believe in Your goodness and provision, but during times of doubts and intense storms, help our unbelief (Mark 9:24). We rely on Your strength to face whatever tomorrow may bring our way, and we will look for the seed for a miracle that You plant within every trial.
As we take baby steps of faith in our walk with You, we grow into the place of total faith in Your faithfulness, love, compassion, and provision for us. You fill our life with Your peace that is so much more relaxing than anything provided for us by this world (John 14:27). We praise and worship You alone, because You are so worthy to receive all our honor and glory.
Thought for the Day:
Access to the throne of God is constantly available to us during every moment of time, and He listens to our concerns, gives us His supernatural peace regardless of our circumstances, and helps us to prioritize our life to follow His desires for each moment of our day.
