Failings are not Failures

Watercrafts on River

Regardless of life’s circumstances, nothing can separate us from the love of God. Many times, negative input from significant others in our lives may condition us to fail or to subconsciously live under the heavy weight of condemnation (Romans 8:1). God wants to reprogram those depressing thoughts.

He uses His scriptures that tell us the truth about our worth and our victory in Christ. Searching His Word gives us a surplus of incredible truths that minister to our spirit and soul, and inevitably to our body, since our thoughts and emotions contribute to our physical health (3 John 2-5).

The next step is to avoid negative people and to hook our wagon to the spiritual stars God puts in our lives. These ordinary Saints of God are walking in victory (Romans 1:7; Ephesians 4:12). If we continue to experience negative thoughts and attitudes, we can pray for God to give us inner healing in that area.

We get disappointed sometimes, when God does not give us what we want; but we soon learn that when He does not want us to have what we want, it is because it is not really good for us, or what we really need at the time, or that He has something even better for us if we wait patiently on His timing and way (Psalm 27:14).

Another realization God teaches us is that failing in one area of our life opens us up to the possibility of success in another. We may lose a battle in our daily living, but thanks to our amazing and compassionate God, Jesus already won the war 2000 years ago on Calvary’s cross.

So rather than experiencing defeat by our failings, we can look for God’s direction as He leads us into a new chapter in our life. We allow the peace and the joy of the Holy Spirit to fill our soul and our spirit to the point of a saturation with His blessings as we bask in the “Sonshine” of His love.

Prayer:

Father God, remind us to seek Your will for each moment of our day. Then we can walk in Your wisdom as Your Spirit leads and guides us each step of the way. If we fail, we can ask You for forgiveness, and You will show us what to do next. If we live in the moment, and walk in the moment, we can obey You one moment at a time (Galatians 5:15-25; John 14:15-31).

We want You to know how much we love You and how much You mean to us. We realize that we could not survive one moment of the day without Your eternal manifestation within us. Thank You for Your protection, provision, and presence that keep us from failing so often, because as we follow Your guidance, we succeed in all our efforts and live a fulfilled life.

Thought for the Day:

We can ask one of God’s Saints to disciple us and then follow them as they follow Jesus – searching the scriptures every day to make sure that what they are “teaching” us by their words and example is truly from God and not from their own efforts to sound eloquent, or to put on a hypocritical “face” in an attempt to impress others, or even doctrines of demons.
