The Spirit of Christ resides within the spirit of each one of us who humble our self, walk away from our self-absorbed, selfish lifestyle, and take our delight in the saving knowledge of Jesus’ sacrifice for us on Calvary’s cross. The dynamic of His presence within us gives us His power, wisdom, grace, and strength to walk in His will each moment of our life.
When we decrease in our human efforts, Christ in us increases in His ability to work in us, as well as to use us for His glory every day of our life. We never know when something as inconsequential as a smile into the eyes of person in a grocery or department store will change their life.
One of God’s names is: The God Who Sees Us. That is a huge pronouncement that can change our life. We are not forgotten, and we matter to the Creator of the Universe. If we submit to His spirit’s leading, He uses us for His glory to do His will every moment of our day. We are crucified with Christ, and we live by the faith of the Son of God in us (Galatians 2:20).
If we repent and walk away from our former lifestyle (2 Corinthians 2:14, 5:17), our old nature, which is worthy of hell (Ephesians 4:22-24; Colossians 3:9-10), is made new by His presence in us (Romans 6:6). We are now spiritually-minded rather than languishing in satanic lies and a human worldview (1 Corinthians 3:1; 1 John 3:10; Ephesians 2:2,5:6).
We are now children of God rather than Satan (John 1:12; Romans 8:4-17; 1 John 3:1,2,10; 2 Corinthians 6:18; Galatians 3:26, 4:6,7; Hebrews 2:10). We live in spiritual harmony with God as children of light, rather than abiding in darkness and depravity (Acts 11:26; 1 Peter 4:16; 1 Thessalonians 5:5-8).
God shares with us His identity, nature, the fruit of His Spirit, and the mind of Christ, which He exchanges for our former low self-esteem and questions about our purpose in life. We realize that who we are is based on who Jesus is, and His purpose in living for our example, and His dying for our salvation and regeneration.
Prayer:
Father God, authentic Believers irritate many people in today’s world, because our beliefs and lifestyle are contrary to their chosen ways of life. We often share eloquently about the miracles and blessings we receive from You, but unbelievers have no reference point to share in our joy. Some reject Jesus because they do not understand Him, then they reject us because they cannot relate to our perspective.
We choose a life hidden with Christ in You (Colossians 3:3-4), and we teach these principles to our children and grandchildren. Thank you that our life sets an example of someone who loves You with our whole heart, listens to Your voice, and clings to You in life’s trials (Deuteronomy 30:19-20). Christ in us is our true hope of current provision and eternal glory (Colossians 1:27). Thank You for your relentless goal to make us like Jesus and for changing our life for better things than we ever imagined possible.
Thoughts for the Day:
When we come to Jesus in repentance, trust, and love, our spirit is Born Again by the blood of the Lamb of God and in the powerful name of Jesus Christ. We trade our self-made perceived sense of human identity for the identity of Christ in us, and we find more fulfillment, peace, and joy than we ever knew was possible on this sin-cursed earth.
