Our Consuming Passion

Prayer is not a last resort; it is our life-line to sanity, as well as for healing and positive emotions. As we pray without ceasing all throughout the day, God pours out His power within us to do spiritual battle in high places (Ephesians 6:12).

When Jesus gave His life as a ransom for our sins, He brought all of us into God's glory. The real blessing in our life is that God empties Himself into us so that we may share His life and His love with the world around us.

God's life in us completes us, makes us whole and unites us with Believers all over the world both now and from years past, as well as those to come in the future. His joy is our strength and His wisdom is our mainstay.

The joy of the Lord is our strength and allows us to freely sail through the tempest of this life. Our witness for a life in Christ multiplies when people see God's peace and pleasure in our life regardless of our circumstances.

The Light and Living Water of Christ in us flows out through us to the hurting world around us (Matthew 5:14; John 4:14, 8:12). We all receive God's grace to survive this earthly existence through prayer.

Distressed, damaged, disturbed, depressed, destitute, delusional, etc. people are drowning in negative emotions, which pester the people that we love: our self, our family, friends, associates and community relationships.

Passionate prayer is needed for healing for all of us through the blood of Jesus Christ. Through prayer, we are drawn to Christ by His Spirit's presence in our life. We are not perfect…we are human. However, other flawed people find comfort in our imperfections.

Some people think our prayer life goes through dry spells or discouragement. This only happens when the focus of our prayers is on our desires rather than God's desires and plan for each moment of our day.

We think that God fails to answer our prayers; however, He always answers with either a "yes", a "wait", or a "no". His timing is perfect and His ways are awesome. We could never desire anything better than His perfect plans for our life (Ephesians 2:10).

Prayer:
Father God, thank You that as we focus on holiness, our desire for sin fades away. Our home is no longer on this earth, because spiritually - which is our true life now and for eternity - we are seated in Heavenly places with You. We hide our life in You and we set our mind on serving You alone (Colossians 3:2; Matthew 6:33).

We are so thankful that You justified us and rebirthed our Spirit through salvation; You will glorify our body with an immortal body in glorification when we see Jesus face-to-face; and in the meantime, Your Spirit is sanctifying us from one stage of glory to the next (2 Corinthians 3:18). We look forward to spending eternity with You in Your Kingdom as joint-heirs with Jesus (Romans 8:17).

Thought for the Day:
Prayer is our consuming passion, because as authentic Believers we stay in tune to God's Spirit every moment of the day; and our communication with the Trinity is the source of our life, liberty and joy, which have no limits.
