For the Glory of God

 Lighthouse

Even the most insignificant habit or activity that we partake in during our lifetime has an eternal impact on those around us. We are either consuming to edify our flesh, or we are allowing God’s Spirit to transform us with the mind and divine nature of Jesus (1 Corinthians 10:31).

In God’s eyes, we are either considered worldly people who are not Born Again by the Spirit of God and are headed straight to hell because of our unbelief (John 3:18); or saved by the blood of the Lamb because we chose to live a converted life (John 3:16-17; Hebrew 1:3; John 11:40); or somewhere in the middle – Born Again, but living a carnal, compromising life (Isaiah 60:1).

The end is already written in eternity. There will come a point where every single knee will bow to the Lord Jesus Christ – those in Heaven, those still on the earth when He comes again (Romans 3:23), and those already suffering eternal torment in the unquenchable fires of hell (Philippians 2:9-11).

Therefore, it is of paramount importance for us to share the Gospel story now with anyone in our sphere of influence who is humble enough to listen. We may feel fearful, intimidated, shy or unprepared; however, there are many simple ways to witness to others (John 17:4-5).

The easiest is to pre-prepare three simple sentences: the first, tells what our life was like before salvation; the second, how Jesus changed everything for us; and last, how we hope they will surrender their life to Christ for their redemption too (Ephesians 1:17-21). Then they may allow the Light of the world to break forth like the dawn in their life, just like we did (Isaiah 58:8).

Prayer:

Father God, the heavens declare Your glory, and the sky proclaims Your handiwork. Their testimony goes out over the whole earth, and there is no one who does not hear their witness of Your goodness toward us all (Psalm 19:1-14). We lift up our heads and look to You, so that Your King of glory may abide within us. Thank You that He is our strong and mighty Lord who did battle for our spirit and soul, who will give us an immortal body when we see Him, and who took us captive away from the lies of the devil (Psalm 24:7-8).

Thank You for appointing us as ministers for You (Isaiah 61:6).  You reign, and the whole earth rejoices (Psalm 97:1). We experience Your glory, and Your Spirit transforms us from one stage of Your glory to the next (2 Corinthians 3:18). You are the King of all ages, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, and we give You honor and glory forever and ever (1 Timothy 1:17).

Thought for the Day:

One of the rich and fulfilling mysteries of God is that Jesus abides within us with the Father through their Spirit; even creation shares the Gospel story with anyone humble enough to hear, so that the glory of the Lord will shine out of darkness into our heart to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
