God
did not save us to be our Aladdin's Lamp and grant all of our wishes. He saved
us to serve Him through His power and anointing within us (Philippians
2:12-13). God does not do our bidding, but we do His - by living in His will
for our life (Ephesians 2:10).
As
we trust Him, God is able to do much more than we could ever imagine or request
from Him (Ephesians 3:20). God calls us to narrow our focus in life to Christ
in us, and He helps us to shed our attachment to this world (Colossians 3:4).
We
believe in God's love with our whole heart and we function with a singleness of
purpose during each new day (Acts 8:37, Colossians 3:22). We no longer rely on
our soul - our thoughts, emotions and choices - to direct our steps (James
4:8).
God's
Spirit renews our mind from our human viewpoint to the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians
2:16). As we follow God's direction, He keeps our soul resting in His love,
peace and goodness (Proverbs 3:5-6; Isaiah 16:3-4; Hebrews 13:5).
We
know we are authentic Believers when God's Spirit resides within us. He changes
us from the inside out and disciplines us as His favorite child (Romans
8:16-17).
We
are joint heirs with Jesus of God's Kingdom, because we are in Christ and He is
in us. This union gives us all the power of the Godhead dwelling within us (1
John 3:2-3).
Jesus
accepts us with all of our foibles, shares His Kingdom with us, and loves us enough
to take the penalty for our sins. We are joint heirs with Him in God's precious
family. He showers us with spiritual blessings straight from heaven (Ephesians
1:3).
Our
last breath here on earth is followed by our first breath of celestial air. We
do not taste death, because Jesus died for us. God fills us with His Spirit and
freely gives us all good things to enjoy (1 Corinthians 2:12).
Prayer:
Father
God, help us to live with gratitude for what You have already given to us, and
not to be petty or pout for what we think we need that You have not yet
supplied. You know if something will harm us, and You withhold Your hand from
giving us what we demand from You.
Remind
us that "Thy will be done" is the greatest prayer on earth, because
with it we release You to work on our behalf. We pray with thanksgiving
(Philippians 4:6), knowing that You will always supply all of our needs by Your
glorious riches (Philippians 4:19).

When
we release our preconceived ideas of what we need, God can bless us with
greater things than we ever dreamed were possible.
