Human Reality is Not Necessarily Truth

Reality is what we see with our human eye and believe with our human mind; if we cannot see a concept or prove it with our human understanding then we deem it untrue. I woke up this morning with this thought in my mind and went to God’s Word to research it.

Even nature proves that God’s ways are true (Psalm 19; Romans 1:20). We cannot see the wind, yet we see and feel its affects. We cannot see with our naked eye an underwater volcano or earthquake, yet we see the tsunami that wipes out a whole island village due to its powerful force.

Here are some examples of God’s Truth as our reality:

·      God made the sun stand still so Israel could win a battle against His enemies (Joshua 10:11-14).

·      Jesus changed water into wine at the request of His mother at a wedding feast, and He raised Lazarus from the dead (John 2:1-11, 11:38-44).

·      God protects us even when mountains move into the sea (Psalm 46:1-3; Matthew 17:20).

·      Jesus healed blind eyes with some mud and a wash in a local river (John 9:4-6).

·      God causes demonically possessed people to become free from the bondage of satanic forces (Mark 5:1-20).

·      Jesus multiplied a child’s lunch to feed thousands with twelve baskets full of left-overs (Mark 6:30-43).

·      God miraculously removed a jailer’s chains from Paul and Silas and brought the jailer and his family to the saving truth of the Gospel of Christ; and He also sent an angel to transport Peter from a locked prison cell when the church had an all-night prayer meeting for his deliverance (Acts 16:25-34).

·      Jesus controlled nature by calming the sea, helping the apostles to catch fish in abundance, healed many sick people, aided Peter to walk on water, found a coin in a fish’s mouth to pay their taxes, etc. (Mark 4:35-41; Luke 5:4-11; Matthew 14:22-33, 17:24-27).

God is always faithful and abundantly cares for His Body of authentic, Born Again Believers. He bids us to enter His wedding feast once our spirit is alive and no longer dead in Adam’s sin (1 Corinthians 15:22-49). God loves His adopted children and gives us the same inheritance and privileges as Jesus, His only begotten Son (Romans 8:16-18).

Prayer:

Father God, when the multitudes see the truth of the miracles of Jesus that defied human reality, many (but not all - due to the hardness of their hearts) were moved to have faith in You and to glorify You (Matthew 9:8). As the righteous, who are bought by the blood of the Lamb, we receive Your supply of all our needs with Your glorious riches (Philippians 4:19-21). You love the whole world – past, present, and future in every nation, tribe, and tongue - and You wish that none will perish in eternal torment (2 Peter 3:8-10).

You never condemn anyone, but we condemn our self by our unbelief (John 3:16-18). Since the period in human history called the “Enlightenment,” Satan has trained people to view Biblical Truth with skepticism and unbelief. Willful sin separates us from You, and it causes You to hide Your face from us, so You will not hear our prayers (Psalm 66:18; Isaiah 59:2). If we confess our sins with a repentant heart and walk away from deliberate sin, You faithfully draw near to us, withhold Your just judgment from us, and You forgive us of all our transgressions through Christ (1 John 1:9).

Thoughts for the Day:

As Believers in Jesus Christ, God’s Truth is our only reality. Modern technology and research bring out a deeper sense of the facts, but God is not restricted by time and matter. His Truth and ways are always superior to our human devices. That is why we walk by faith, and not by sight.
