When
Jesus rose triumphantly from the grave, God seated Him at His right hand and
gave Him authority now and in the age to come. God placed everything and
everyone under Jesus' feet and appointed Him as head over all things.
God
also provides incomparably great power for all authentic Believers in Christ.
We are raised with Jesus, and He admonishes us to concentrate our heart on a
spiritual focus (Colossians 3:1). Then, our thoughts and behavior reflect His
heavenly mindset (1 Corinthians 6:2-4).
We
are seated, even now in our spirit, as co-heirs with Jesus far above all
rulers, authority, power and dominions, and even over death (Ephesians 1:19-21;
1 Corinthians 15:24-26; Romans 8:17; John 5:22, 17:22). This fact influences
how we live and think, and gives us faith to believe in who we are in Christ.
We
obey God's Biblical precepts with courage. Reaching out to the lost, we make
disciples from all nations, and baptize them in Jesus name, setting them free
from the devil's lies, so they can serve King Jesus for eternity (Matthew
28:18-19; Acts 16:18).
Authentic
Believers are different from the rest of the world, because of our position in the
heavenly realm. We do not conform to the ways of this world, as we actively
seek His purpose for our life by walking in the Spirit each moment of the day
(Romans 12:2; Matthew 6:24).
Daily,
we renew our mind by washing it with the Word of God and developing a positive
attitude (Philippians 4:8). We are ambassadors for Christ in a lost and dying
world, imploring them to be submissive to God (2 Corinthians 5:20).
When
Jesus comes to earth a second time, He will bring His Bride, His Church, His
Body, His Saints with Him. He will cause every nation, ruler and kingdom to
fully submit to His will (Philippians 2:10-11). Every knee will bow and every
tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:10).
Prayer:
Father
God, remind us that You give us Your divine power to demolish carnal and
satanic strongholds in our life that tend to exalt themselves over Your truth. Help
us to inventory our thoughts, emotions and behavior and to take them captive to
make them obedient to Your precepts (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). Through salvation,
we died, and our life is now hidden with Christ in You (Colossians 2:3;
Galatians 2:20).
Thank
You for protecting us when we listen to Your voice as our Good Shepherd. We
know that no one and nothing can snatch us out of Your hand (John 10:27-29).
You provide for all of our needs and keep us while we walk through the shadow
of death into Your presence in eternity. You daily restore our soul from the
ravages of this life (Psalm 23:3-5). This gives us so much peace and joy.
Thought
for the Day:
Many
Christians still allow the world and satanic lies to dictate their thoughts,
emotions and behavior, rather than changing our focus to spiritual matters and
pursuits; the best way to change this conundrum is to immerse our thoughts in God's
Word and to walk through each moment of life led by His Spirit.
