Walking by Faith

God’s Word encourages us to live our life by walking by faith rather than by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). This is scary, but doable... and once I started blocking out the natural, and experiencing more of the supernatural, it felt more normal than trying to figure out everything with my human understanding.

The peace of God in our spirit is what guides us, rather than the machinations of our mind (Colossians 3:15-17). Setting our self free from the limitations of our human understanding opens us up to a whole new world that is fun, fluid, fascinating, and lasts forever.

Worrying about our life saps our energy from our soul. Our aggravation, grouchiness, anger, depression, etc. deplete the energy from our mate’s and our children’s soul too. Negative emotions are not ours to use to explode all over unsuspecting victims. They are meant to give us a red flag to remind us to take stock of our life.

There is an underlying cause for every negative emotion. Maybe we are neglecting our self and putting everyone else first, or we are in an abusive relationship and not standing up for our self, or we keep rescuing people from their problems which compounds our problems, or we overly commit to too many responsibilities and our soul is starving, sick, and/or empty.

We are operating under our own control, rather than the will of God for us. The pleasure we give to God once we walk in His will for each moment of our day is built on mutual trust and unity (Ephesians 2:10). This union with Him is our inspiration to live for Him each moment of our day, regardless of our vocation or circumstances.

God gave us the tool of prayer to help our self and others, rather than to use human advice and resources to bail out our significant others from the effects of their poor decisions. This codependent behavior cripples the loved ones we are attempting to save. We actually prolong their consequences by rescuing them rather than encouraging them to turn to God for their answers.

Prayer:

Father God, thank You for teaching me that codependence is a lie from Satan to keep us focused on our self and others rather than on You. Attaining freedom from codependent behavior is the second most liberating event in my life next to my salvation from my sinful lifestyle by Jesus’ sacrifice on Calvary’s cross. Thank You for loving the whole world and including me in Your family with Jesus and all Your other adopted children throughout the ages of time (John 3:16-18; Ephesians 1:5).

Teach us to prove our love for You by keeping Your commandments and by following You step by step throughout the day (John 14:15-31; Psalm 63:8-10). Thank You for helping us to believe in the unseen by reminding us to walk by spiritual faith and not by humanistic sight. You make all things beautiful in Your time, no matter how intense the trial was which manifested Your miracles to and for us (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Thank You for never letting us go and loving us throughout eternity.

Thoughts for the Day:

We stop the stress and worry in life by walking by faith and not relying on our human understanding. We rest in the Lord and relax through every trial and circumstance. We see trouble as opportunities, and we look for the adventures in growing in spiritual maturity toward a more perfect union with the Trinity of God within us.
