A Personal Relationship

Since the creation of the world, God’s invisible attributes, His eternal power, and His divine nature are more evident to us all. His glory is revealed in the conception of a child, a beautiful flower or sunset, the warmth of our pets, the giggle of a baby, the kindness of another human being, a flower growing in the crack of a sidewalk (Romans 1:20).

God reveals Himself through judgment also. However, He never sends judgment without warning if we are wise enough to heed these signs all around us. We experience His divine appointments and intervention. This eradicates the excuses people use when they adopt an atheistic or agnostic philosophy.

Take Noah for instance, he preached for 120 years and even built an Ark as a clear sign of the coming judgement, but only his family got aboard the Ark before God shut the door. Seven days later, amidst ridicule and unbelief from the population outside of the boat, water gushed forth from the sky and the depths of the earth at the same time.

God’s Word is also full of prophecy that diligently warns of times of judgment to come. The most profound judgment is just around the corner when God uses fire, plagues, and the anti-Christ in the seven years of the Great Tribulation. The wise will heed these warnings, but the foolish will perish with their superior attitude and mindset.

Once we come to God in repentance, He raises us with Jesus and teaches us how to seek the unseen things above, rather than what we experience or have access to on this earth. Our life is hidden with Christ in God. He is our life. At His second coming, we, Jesus’ Bride, will accompany Him in all His glory (Colossians 3:1-25).

Prayer:

Father God, thank You for always being with us and in us. There is no place we can go from Your Spirit, and no space where we can flee from Your presence. If we ascend to heaven, You are there; if we make our bed in the grave, You are there. If we take the wings of the dawn, if we dwell in the furthest part of the sea, even there Your hand will lead us. In Your mercy, Your right hand will lay hold of us (Psalm 139:7-12).

Each new morning, You cover us with Your steadfast love and make known to us Your ways in which we should walk. We lift up our soul – our thoughts, emotions, and choices – to You, and we trust in You throughout each moment of our day (Psalm 143:8; Proverbs 3:5-6). This helps us not to continue to love the world, but to love You in word and deed, and in dependance on You alone (1 John 3:18). We love You above all, and continually sing praises to Your name.

Thoughts for the Day:

We are blessed if we do not walk by the dictates of our flesh, the fables propagated by the world, or the lies of satanic forces. We keep our friendships pure, and we delight in God’s Word both day and night. This plants us by the streams of living water so we can bear fruit in season, and it refreshes us and keeps us healthy in body, soul, and spirit.

- Psalm 1:1-6; John 4:9-14, 7:37-38
