Security in Christ

In both the old and new testaments in His Word, God promises to never leave or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6; Hebrew 13:5). Regardless of what trauma we experience, He is right there in us and with us, and His love is surrounding us the whole time (Romans 8:35-39). He is not careless with His promises, but He keeps every one of them (2 Peter 3:9).

God chose Jesus, who never fell to the temptation to sin, to be sin so He could redeem anyone humble enough to surrender our life to Him (2 Corinthians 5:21). We relinquish our weary yoke, and we yoke up with Him instead. He helps us to carry our load, which makes it easy and light for us (Matthew 11:29).

With each intimate moment we spend with the Lord as we go about the duties of our day, we grow in our love for Him and surrender to Him our whole heart, mind, and strength (Matthew 22:37-39). When we love one another, we fulfill God’s law (John 15:12; Romans 13:8). It is such a great testimony to the world when God’s people dwell together in unity (; Ephesians 5:2).

The key to walk in complete victory in our lifetime is to confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, and to believe in our heart that God planned for Him to die for our individual and collective sins, and that He raised Jesus from the dead so we will be saved from current and eternal destruction (Romans 10:9-10).

God’s Word gives us wisdom for living a fulfilled life. We embrace His mercy and truth and cling to them in our heart. This provides us with approval from both God and our fellow mankind (Proverbs 3:3-4). We continually abide in His love and presence, and we follow Jesus’ example to discover how to walk in the Spirit and to avoid sin’s temptations (John 15:9-10).

Our belief in Jesus’ saving work on Calvary’s cross frees us from the wrath of God and provides for us current blessings and eternal life (John 3:36). Showing compassion, love, and charity to others is more important than any ministry we could ever perform in God’s Kingdom (1 Corinthians 13:2; Romans 12:9).

Prayer:

Father God, thank You for Your love and for giving us Your love through Your Body and to share with our family, community, throughout the world (1 John 4:12). We praise You for Your blessings and benefits all day long. Thank You for forgiving our iniquities, healing our diseases, redeeming our life from destruction, crowning us with Your love and mercy, satisfying our physical needs, and renewing our life with the proficiency of an eagle (Psalm 103:2-5).

We know that there is no eternal salvation provided for us by any other means than through Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). Thank You for gracing us with Your love and redemption though Jesus’ sacrifice, and for allowing us to live as part of Your eternal family. We look forward to being just like Jesus when we see Him face-to-face in eternity. Help us to walk away from the sins that snare us now and to purify our body and soul by Your Spirit’s redemptive work in us (1 John 1-3).

Thoughts for the Day:

Since one man died for us all who were dead in sin, the love of God constrains us from continuing to break His laws (2 Corinthians 5:14-16). He has shown us the good path for our life through loving His mercy, living justly, and walking in humility with our God (Micah 6:8). He wants us to love our enemies and to give to the needy as His Spirit directs us – hoping for nothing in return. In doing this, we live as His children and reap His rewards (Luke 6:35).
