Hearing God in the Stillness

Our intimacy with God includes His companionship, protection and provision. He hides us (Psalm 27:5, 32:7), supplies all of our needs, fills us with the fruit of His Spirit, and communicates with us on a personal level (John 14:21; Galatians 5:22).

Our Savior and King teaches, encourages, perfects and strengthens us as we abide in His presence every moment of our life (Psalm 92:12-14; John 15:4-5; 1 Corinthians 3:14-15).

This intimacy starts in our prayer room and moves into our spirit, where we dwell in our secret place all day long. This enables us to follow the leading of God's Spirit in every issue and decision which we face each day (Proverbs 3:5-6; Matthew 6:6).

We surrender to God's love and perfect will for every area of our life. We wait on Him in the stillness of our soul. What if our soul is in turmoil, hopelessness and despair?

We yield our anxiety, indecision, irritations, depression, anger and resentment to God's faithful care (1 John 4:18); and in exchange, we receive His security, comfort, freedom and treasures.

God's love is deeper, wider, higher and broader than any human emotions we could ever experience (Romans 8:35-39). His love demolishes every fear that we experience in this troubled world (1 John 4:18).

Regardless of the difficulties we face, they are merely light and momentary issues, because they are reaping for us God's eternal glory, which greatly compensates for them all (2 Corinthians 4:17).

Prayer:
Father God, when we surrender our negative emotions to You, You teach us to take searching moral inventories of our soul, to journal our findings and to submit to Your grace as You sanctify us through Your Spirit. Thank You for setting us free from the bondage of sin, and helping us to walk in ever increasing stages of Your glory.

We are so grateful that You set us free from the lies which Satan uses to keep us in his bondage. You heal us in spirit, soul and body; You shed Your mercy on us with each new morning; You set us free by Your Son's redemptive work on Calvary's cross; and You bless us with Your everlasting love, peace and joy.

Thought for the Day:
When our faith in God is tested, we can take heart, because each trial is working patience in our life, is transforming our mind with the mind of Christ, and is perfecting our emotions through the fruit of the Spirit.
