We
suffer loss in this sin-cursed world, because the devil is in charge. The only
way to survive life is to trust in Jesus as our Savior, and to consult God
before we think, say or do anything (Proverbs 3:5-6).
This
keeps our mind focused on Jesus, who is our peace, and who breaks down every
hindering wall in our life (Ephesians 2:14). He fills us with His overflowing
hope, joy and peace, because we trust in Him and turn to His Spirit for
direction for each moment of our day (Romans 15:13).
As
authentic Believers, we are never desolate, overwhelmed or hopeless, because we
live, move and have our entire being in Jesus Christ (Acts 17:28). Our life enjoys a
surfeit of His blessings.
We
overflow with thankfulness to our God, as we follow His perfect plan for us. Our roots luxuriate in the fertile soil of our spirit, which is one with
Him (Colossians 2:6-7).
We
avoid empty philosophies and spiritual-sounding deception, which is born from
human imaginations and egos, rather than founded on the Word of God and the
power and authority of His Kingdom (Colossians 2:8).
Even
our trials have a hidden purpose to drive us deeper under the shelter of His
wings (Psalm 91:4), and to increase our intimacy with Christ our Savior, Lord
and King. Our soul overflows with peace and joy, because we trust in Him alone.
We
never have to run out of energy in our soul - our thoughts, feelings and
choices - because we walk in God's will every single moment of the day. We can
do everything God calls us to do, because He abides within us (1 John 4:13).
Prayer:
Father
God, all of Your fullness dwelt in the human form of Jesus Christ while He
lived and worked on this earth on Your behalf. We are also complete beings
through our union with Christ, and all of Your fullness also abides within us
as well (Colossians 2:9-10).
We
received a spiritual operation to remove the dead, carnal flesh from our life
(Colossians 2:11), and You continue to prune us so that we will bear much fruit
for You (John 15:2). Thank You for burying us with Christ through baptism, and
for raising us into a new life as we trust in Your mighty power, that raised
Jesus from the dead (Colossians 2:12).
Thought
for the Day:
We
daily accept God's wondrous gifts, offered from His heart of compassion toward
us, even when we are sinners, who are not deserving of His love and compassion.
- Romans 5:8
