When
we trust in Jesus as our Savior, God fills our soul with love, joy and peace.
By the power of His Holy Spirit, He transforms our whole life and outlook with
confident and radiant hope (Romans 15:13).
We
are often afraid to trust in God for our needs, so we strive to care for our
self instead. However, He is not an angry ruler and He does not extract more
from us than we are able to give. He is not a punisher, but a provider for
those who trust in Him.
God
is not wrathful, but graceful. He is not hateful, but loving. He does not
extort, but gives liberally to all who will ask of Him. God’s people fear Him,
not because of His fury, but because of His love. God's plans for us are higher
than our goals, and His thoughts than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:5-9).
We
run to Him, and He redeems, sanctifies and glorifies us. We forsake our carnal
ways and thoughts, and we seek the Lord's will for our life. He has compassion
on us, and abundantly pardons all of our transgressions.
God
is not constantly watching out for us to sin in order to penalize us, but He is
always watching out for us to protect us. He works with us and in us to
increase our faith and to teach us that His abilities are ever-present within
us.
When
we take the chance and trust the Lord with our life, we feel His divine
forgiveness pouring over our soul like a waterfall (Psalm 130:4). We can
readily forgive the harm others inflict upon us, because we have been forgiven
much as well (Luke 12:48).
Prayer:
Father
God, people today will not trust Jesus as their Savior. We know that, in part, this
is because of satanic lies that they believe. They worship the creature rather
than the creator (Romans 1:25). They follow humanistic reasoning and worldly
perceptions, rather than asking You for true wisdom from above (James 3:17).
They allow science and history revisionists to overrule the principles they
learned at their mother’s knee. They reject the Gospel and cling to fables
instead of the truth (2 Timothy 4:4).
Open
the eyes of their understanding to perceive Your mercy and grace, to hunger
after Your truth, and to have faith in Your faithfulness. Shower those who do
not know You with your loving kindness. Cause them to desire the fullness of a
life found only in You. Give them a vision of Your mercy and grace. Trouble
their dreams until they reach out and allow You to enfold them in Your sacred
heart.
Thought
for the Day:
Unbelievers
say that Believers are misinformed, brainwashed, deceived, unenlightened,
narrow-minded, misled and bigoted; yet, they cling to every flotsam and jetsam
of their shipwrecked lives, not realizing that they are inches away from
sinking into eternal damnation; so we can pray for them to be saved and to
surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, as they allow Him to lead them by
His Spirit into all truth (John 16:13).
