Bearing Much Spiritual Fruit

low angle photo of grass taken at daytime

Jesus always claimed to be God; He is in our Heavenly Father, and our Father is in Him. We are also in Him, and He dwells within us by His Spirit. He kept His promise to send the Holy Spirit to us, as another Comforter who would never leave us (John 14:18-20).

The world at large does not receive God's Spirit, because they do not look for Him or even recognize Him (John 14:15-17). However, when anyone repents of their sinful ways, and opens their heart to Him, God's Spirit moves into our spirit and leads us into all truth.

We are the temple of our living God, and He walks with us and lives within us as His people (2 Corinthians 6:16). We prove our love for God by our obedience. Due to our love for Jesus, our Daddy God also loves us, and they reveal themselves to us by their presence in us all throughout the day (John 14:21).

When we love the Lord our God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength (Mark 12:30), amazingly our God and King wants to spend time with us. His intimate communion with us is endless and eternal (1 Thessalonians 5:17). He admonishes us to love and obey Him.

When we seek His face, God's Spirit leads us, guides us, blesses us, and bestows His wisdom upon us in each decision we make. God has a perfect plan for our life, and He wants to lead us in the way that we should go (Jeremiah 42:3; Ephesians 2:10). We end up bearing much spiritual fruit for Him.

This takes concentrated time and attention, which is always well spent, because we abide in His presence each moment of our day. This allows us to live our lives as a praise to Him - full of His peace, joy and contentment - and to draw ever closer to His heart each day.

Prayer:
Father God, help us to prioritize our time to include only Your will for us, and to exclude useless endeavors devised by our own desire to serve You (1 John 1:6).This will help us to demote everything that crowds out or competes with our affections for You. It also prevents us from reaping the destruction of our fleshly pursuits.

Instead, we live in Your power, productivity and spiritual victory, as we experience an abundant and fruitful life, full of purpose, meaning and adventure. Your blessings are not earned, but awarded to us as we recognize the validity of our Christian walk. This allows us to access Your power, wisdom and strength in everything that we think, say and do (Ephesians 5:18).

Thought for the Day:
Jesus encourages us to cast our cares upon Him, since He cares for us, which enables us to learn that God is trustworthy as we walk with Him throughout our life; if we will allow Him to do so, the Lord Himself solves our problems, teaches us through our trials, and helps us to carry our heavy burdens.
