Compassionate God

Our Lord answers us in our daily trouble. He defends us, helps us, and strengthens us to live as conquerors. He grants our petitions, saves us, and He gives us a fulfilling purpose in life. Even though He is our King, He always answers us when we call (Psalm 20). When we obey His voice, He showers us with His richest blessings (Deuteronomy 28:2).

God restores our soul and leads us in His righteous paths so that we can be a living testimony of the fact that anyone can have His presence in our life (Psalm 23:3). Therefore, we never lose hope, even though we age in this finite body, because our spiritual, inner life is renewed each moment of the day (2 Corinthians 4:16).

He gives us beauty for the ashes that result from some of our circumstances, heals our soul with the oil of His joy when we are grieved, refreshes us when we are weary, causes His face to shine on us, provides us with His salvation, restores our physical health and heals our mental, emotional, and spiritual wounds (Psalm 80:19; Isaiah 61:3; Psalm 94:19; Jeremiah 31:25; Jeremiah 30:17).

We look forward to His coming to claim His Bride, as well as to returning to earth with Him at His second coming when the government shall be on His shoulders (1 Peter 1:13; Isaiah 9:6-7). Until then, His grace is sufficient to strengthen us each day, and His power is revealed in our weaknesses (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Prayer:

Father God, we thank You for Your favor that rests on us, Your smile that beams on us, Your graciousness to us, and Your protection and peace (Psalm 90:17; Numbers 6:24-26). Your glorious power strengthens us with all might to allow patience to have her perfect work in us and to find joy in every circumstance (James 1:4-8; Colossians 1:11). You make us rich in ways in which this world has no concept or reference point (Proverbs 10:22).

As we walk in Your Spirit You put Your desires in our heart, and You make us succeed in all our ways (Psalm 20:4; Romans 15:13). We thank You for Your grace, mercy, and the union of Your presence from within us (Philippians 4:23). We love to spend quality time in communion with You. You help us to breathe slowly as our stress dissipates, and to listen to Your wisdom and direction for each moment of our day.

Thought for the Day:

God wants to relieve, restore, and renew us as we spend time throughout the day in worship and adoration in His glorious presence within us; as we seek Him and His strength, gazing into His face each moment of our day, His presence goes with us and gives us rest, and completes us as He comforts us. We are unified with His Body, live a peace-filled life, and enjoy His continual and unconditional love for us.
