Magnifying the Lord

Pink Flowers Near Mountain Covered by Snow

We use a magnifying glass to make something larger than it is naturally. The specific design and purpose of the item we are magnifying is never really changed or diminished in any way; and we do not even pay any attention to the magnifying glass, because we are focusing on the item we are examining.

When we magnify the Lord, we are the magnifying glass. No one really focuses on us; however, they see the Lord in all His glory with all His fine details defined and amplified. We exalt His name and give Him the glory that is due to His name. We boast in the Lord’s provision and protection for us, and others hear and rejoice (Psalm 34:2-3, 107:32).

The God of our salvation is exalted when we trust in Him as our Rock and Deliverer (Psalm 18:46). This allows Him to delight in us as His servants, to vindicate us in every circumstance, and to care about our well-being (Psalm 35:27). We exalt and thank Him in our thoughts and songs for all He does for us (Psalm 69:30).

We worship Him at His footstool because of His holiness and justice as well as His mercy and grace. The whole earth is His footstool (Psalm 99:5; Isaiah 66:1-2). We cannot contain our self when we realize that He delights in our success in body, soul, and spirit; and we end up shouting for joy and worshipping Him in our gladness (Psalm 35:27-28).

Prayer:

Father God, we seek You and we find You, because You are never far from each of Your beloved children (Acts 17:27). You do not have favorites, or love any of us more than the others - regardless of our accomplishments or failings (Romans 2:11-16). We magnify You with thanksgiving in our heart and praises on our lips (Psalm 33:1-2, 66:8).

We rejoice in You always, regardless of our circumstances, and we praise You for working out everything for our eventual good (Philippians 4:4-8; Romans 8:28). Even Your angels obey Your voice and keep Your commandments as they excel in Your strength (Psalm 103:20-22). We rejoice in Your joy and depend on Your peace all day long (Psalm 9:4, 32:11).

Thoughts for the Day:

Those who seek the Lord will rejoice and be glad in Him for His love and care for us all. We magnify Him with our life, especially when we rejoice in Him as our focus instead of allowing our circumstances to defeat us. Others see our testimony lived out in our life and rejoice as they adopt His Word and salvation in their own life.
