Transitions in life are rarely fun. They involve stress, insecurity, meeting new people, new job, perhaps packing up and moving to a new home in a new city, etc. When we follow the direction of God’s Spirit and put our trust in the Lord during these times, He turns these issues into a new adventure in His will.
God provides us with a new purpose and a new “mission field” for our life through these changes. The days may be challenging with unforeseen trials, but the Trinity of God within us keeps us in perfect peace as we keep our focus on Him rather on the setbacks and enormous challenges.
Life is unpredictable. It pops out of the parameters we planned and causes us grief. However, our Father God gives us wisdom to face these tasks as well as other people who experienced the same issues we face now to encourage and to support us, and to teach us what they learned from their experiences.
At times, the valleys in life are low and dark. They cause fear to rise in our heart. We should allow our self to fully feel the fear, and then to pray for God’s direction for us through each moment of the day. Our trust in the Lord through the trials is a witness to our family, friends, acquaintances, workmates, and community.
We are a city set on a hill, and as we lift up Jesus through our circumstances, He draws people to Himself (Matthew 5:14-16). Even in the most devastating issues, He is right there with us and in us. He will perfect us, so we have need of nothing during future trials (James 1:4-8). He has a plan for our life, and He is unfolding it one step at a time (Ephesians 2:10).
Prayer:
Father God, You are with us and in us during our times of fear, hopelessness, and stress. You reveal Yourself in and through us. Help us to mourn the losses of our former life and to trust You to bless us in our new circumstances – regardless of how negative they appear at the time (2 Corinthians 4:16-18). We trust in You with our whole heart, and we thank You for sending us people who will understand and support us through what we are experiencing.
You are our Father of Light and You give good gifts to Your children (James 1:17). You love us abundantly above anything we can ever imagine, and our life is in Your hands. We keep our focus on You and we trust in the perfection of Your will in and through our life (Romans 8:28; Ephesians 3:20). Jesus said that we will always experience trials in this life, but we can traverse them with joy because Jesus already overcame them, and He abides within us (John 16:33).
Thoughts for the Day:
Even during times of spiritual warfare, Christ who lives in us is greater than Satan, the god of this world. God’s Word advises us to draw near to God, to resist the devil, and he MUST flee from us. Our focus on God rather than on our circumstances is the first giant step to traverse the transitions in our life in a victorious manner.
