The Power of God in Us

 Pink Flowers Photograph

If the Almighty God is in us, with us, and surrounding us, no one who is against us can overcome us or overwhelm us (Romans 8:31).  He fights for us, and we just stand in peace and watch as our salvation through each circumstance comes from Him (Exodus 14:14).

In every battle we face, God is our shield and defense. He rewards us abundantly above anything we could ever imagine because of His power that works within and through us (Ephesians 3:20; Genesis 15:1). Regardless of how severe or fearful our circumstances grow He continually fights for us (Deuteronomy 20:4).

If we ever feel fear in our circumstances, we can simply change our focus from what we are experiencing to put our trust solely in God and His constant faithfulness to His Saints (Psalm 56:3). We do not want to entertain anxious thoughts, but in every issue, which we face in life, we come to God in gratitude and trust (Philippians 4:6).

God does not supply us with carnal, humanistic weapons and wisdom to fight our battles in life; but spiritual armor to protect us through Him, which allow us to overcome every stronghold that comes against us (Ephesians 6:10; 2 Corinthians 10:4). When God is fighting for us, He even takes the sting out of death (1 Corinthians 15:55-56; Deuteronomy 3:22).

When God and His hosts of heavenly angels are on our side, we – like young King David – can put thousands to flight in defeat. God promises to fight for us through thick and thin (Joshua 23:10). We are strong in His might, not is our own human resources, and we can stand against any scheme that the devil uses to attempt to defeat us (Ephesians 6:10).

Prayer:

Father God, we thank You for Your armor that we can put on each new morning in order to stand victoriously through every trial we could ever encounter. Remind us to always pray in the Spirit to You for all Your Saints, but especially to persevere in prayer for the persecuted church in America and worldwide (Ephesians 6:14-18).

Although our circumstances seem unbearable at times, there is always someone that is suffering more than we are. We lift up their plight to You and pray for Your mercy on us all as we experience the results of the curse of sin in this world. Help us to pray for our fellow Saints who are suffering around the world and to show gratitude to You for Your provision and protection in our life.

Thoughts for the Day:

God actually commands us to be strong and courageous, not to give in to fear or to lose hope, and to realize that He is in us and goes with us. When we commit to consult Him in all our decisions and choices, no battle is ever ours alone. If we walk in God’s Spirit, He actually claims our troubles as His, walks with us, and overcomes it for us.
