Our Father God

This world is full of fearful and anxiety-producing events that make us want to hide in our room and never come out. At best, these scenarios cause stress in our life that harm us mentally, emotionally, and physically. They may also cause resentment, anger, shame, and frustration.

It is only as we trust in the Lord, as the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2-4), to also be our Father God who helps us to face tomorrow with faith in His faithful plan for the universe. He is a trustworthy, redeeming, compassionate, and disciplinary Father. His love, peace, and joy see us through the most extremely negative circumstances.

Our human trajectory is to join the crowd on the unrestrictive road of life, but it leads directly to more earthly trials and eternal destruction (Matthew 7:13). God wondrously provided us with His Word to encourage, instruct, and inspire us throughout our lifetime. In my young Christian life, it was called:

B-asic

I-nstructions

B-efore

L-eaving

E-arth

I LOVE that because it is so true and comforting. God’s mandates are included in His Word to convict us of our sinful lifestyle, so we will seek the safety of His narrow road of protection for us that leads to abundant life both now and throughout eternity (Matthew 7:14).

Younger generations of parents are rejecting church attendance because of their resentment toward their own parents for making them attend church activities. Sadly, they do not want their children confused by the disparity between the Truth they learn at church compared to the fables they are learning at school.

They want to prevent their children from growing up with the baggage they carry with them from their own childhood. What these young people do not realize is that a personal relationship with God as their true, loving, and trustworthy Father is the best thing that could ever happen to them or their children.

Prayer:

Father God, please help us to communicate to the children and parents in our world that You are the only One who can deliver us from the painful effects of our past and the unknown aspects of our future. Our parents and other authority figures in our life were flawed due to their humanity and the baggage from their own past. You alone can turn our darkness into light and redeem our pain into an opportunity to relate to others who are going through similar circumstances.

Our mental, emotional, and physical healing only comes from the Lord. Medical doctors attempt to control our symptoms, but often the side effects of medication and surgery are worse than our original issues. Help us to put our trust in You alone and to love You with our whole heart and soul. Help us to teach our children and grandchildren that they too can trust in You, because You are always faithful.

Thoughts for the Day:

Our Father God loves us unconditionally more than any person in our life ever can because we all have human foibles. God knows the end of time from the beginning, and He is not bound by time or events. His Spirit guides us, sanctifies us, comforts, and encourages us better than we could ever comfort our child. Jesus Christ is our only road to freedom from the bondage to sin and our reaping eternal devastation from our unbelief and lack of conversion to His truth.
