Walking in God’s Anointing

The real purpose of life on this earth is not to amass worldly toys, trophies and ribbons, or titles and promotions, but to abide in the center of God’s will for us as individuals. This is the happiest place for us to be during our lifetime. Everything clicks into place, and we feel joy and perfect peace without stress or anxiety.

This is often called our “divine destiny.” God gives us His plan each moment of the day, and we follow His peace in our spirit, even when we have no peace in our soul – our thoughts, emotions, and choices - about some decision or event. This peace is not an emotion, but an internal supernatural calm given to us by God (Philippians 4:7).

God’s anointing on us to perform a certain feat, or to help a definite person, or to pray for someone even if we do not know what is going on in their life gives us this supernatural peace within. Without His direction we can only accomplish vain and empty exploits in His name (Mathew 7:21-24).

However, through Christ in us we can do all things He calls us to do (Philippians 4:13-17). We no longer take one step forward and two steps backward, but we walk along a level path which He provides for us (Psalm 27:11). He directs our steps (Psalm 37:23; Proverbs 20:24).

If we are truly Born Again by the Spirit of God, He leads our steps (Romans 8:14; Proverbs 16:9). Unless God builds the house, we labor in vain (Psalm 127:1-4; Isaiah 53:6). His ways prevent discouragement and burnout (Jeremiah 10:23; Proverbs 14:12). Temptation has no hold on us, and we are out from under its domination of our life (Psalm 119:133).

We imitate Jesus’ example, hear His voice, and follow Him (Ephesians 5:1; John 10:27). God provides for all our needs, restores our soul when we get weary or discouraged, and leads us in His path for us for His name’s sake (Psalm 23). We can never give Him enough worship for who He is and all that He did and does for us each moment of the day.

Prayer:

Father God, show us Your ways, teach us how to wait on Your timing and to walk in Your path for us individually and corporately as a local Body of Believers. Lead us in Your Truth and help us to walk away from worldly advice and examples and into Your glorious light (2 Corinthians 4:4-6). You are the source of our salvation (Psalm 25:4). In order for You to guide us with Your eye, remind us that we must be seeking Your face (Isaiah 58:11; Psalm 32:8; 1 Chronicles 16:11; Lamentations 3:25).

We want to trust in You with our whole heart, disregard our human musings, and consult You for every choice and decision we are called on to make. We desire to follow Your plan for our life as You direct our steps (Proverbs 3:5-6; Isaiah 48:17). Thank You for leveling out and smoothing our path as You protect us from those who want to harm us (Psalm 27:11).

Thoughts for the Day:

God guides us throughout our life and even through the valley of the shadow of death (Psalm 23, 48:14). If we turn from His direction and follow our own path by turning to the right or left, we forsake His guidance and walk in our own pride and rebellion (Deuteronomy 5:32). This removes us from His protection and allows satanic forces to disrupt our life.
