God has a perfect plan for our life, and living in it is the happiest place for us on this earth (Ephesians 2:10). Chasing our human goals and priorities cause us to reap trouble and tribulation, and at times, irrevocable damage. Rejecting Jesus’ sacrifice for us will lead us to our eventual eternal death (Hebrews 4:13).
Then, our spirit, soul and immortal body will suffer everlasting torment in the flames of hell, and we will have no one to blame but our self (John 3:17-18). We will all face God for judgment for our thoughts, words, and deeds (2 Corinthians 5:10); however, those converted Believers in Jesus Christ will receive or fail to receive rewards rather than eternal destruction (Ecclesiastes 12:13).
There are only two choices we make in life that affect our eternal destination:
1. Rejecting Jesus’ sacrifice for each of us individually
2. Enter true repentance and accepting His righteousness in exchange for our iniquity.
Many rewards are given for obedience to God’s purposes, and few rewards will result from living life our self-centered way and ignoring His will for our life (Ephesians 2:8-10). We are separated from our worldly gain the moment we die. Our body goes to the grave and our spirit and soul go to either heaven or hell.
Every choice of obedience to God’s will earns us commendation from our Father God when we stand before His judgment. Like Joshua of old, we make our choice each day whom we will serve: Satan, Self, or Almighty God (Joshua 24:15).
God gives us all a free will to make our own choices in life. Choosing to serve God with our whole body, soul, and spirit will drastically alter our lifestyle; however, it will bring deep fulfillment, peace, and joy to our soul. Our spirit will grow in grace and our body will suffer fewer results from our wrong choices.
Prayer:
Father God, thank You for gently drawing us to Your unconditional love and grace, and for increasing our intimate union with You every day that we keep You as the focus of our life (Colossians 3:3-4). The more we submit to Your will, the more of Your blessings You pour out on us (Isaiah 44:3; 2 Corinthians 9:11-15; Malachi 3:10). It is better for us never to have known the truth of God’s Word than to know this truth and to choose to walk away from it and God’s purposes for us.
Help us to make time to read Your Word more frequently during our day and to walk in Your precepts. We choose to serve You and to follow Your will for us. Thank You for giving us Your Spirit to guide us along Your paths for us. Remind us to make a fresh commitment to serve You with the dawn of each day, and give us the inner strength to fully surrender to You (Ephesians 3:16-19; 2 Corinthians 4:16). We love, honor, praise, and glorify Your name today and always.
Thoughts for the Day:
Always staying genuine, faithful, and loyal to the Lord, regardless of any personal cost on our life, helps God’s Spirit to cleanse us of all unrighteousness, and to transform us with the mind and nature of Jesus Christ. We consult the Lord for every decision we make, and we walk in step with Him throughout our life.
