Our Gratitude to the Lord

The entire earth is the Lord and everything in it. The whole world is His and all the people who ever did, are, and will inhabit it belong to Him as well – whether believers or unbelievers. Our deepest heart-felt prayer is that everyone will understand the length, breadth, height, and depth of His love for all mankind (Psalm 24:11; John 3:16-17).

We owe God, our Father, as well as Jesus, our Lord and King, all our gratitude for their love for us. Our faith and love are birthed in the hope that is stored up for us in Heaven, which is proven to us by Jesus’ sacrifice on Calvary’s cross. This Gospel of Jesus Christ bears fruit and grows throughout the entire world. It helps us to understand God grace and truths as well as His love for us (Colossians 1:3-8).

We ask God to fill the world with the knowledge of His wisdom, understanding, and will that come to us by His Spirit, so we can all live a life worthy and pleasing to Him in every way by bearing fruit in all our good works. He strengthens us with the power of His might so we can live with a patient and enduring attitude regardless of our circumstances (Colossians 1:9-11).

God rescued us from the kingdom of satanic darkness, and brought us into the Kingdom of Jesus, the Son that He loves. This causes us to pour out our gratitude to our Father in our praise to Him, because through Jesus’ sacrifice to pay our sin debt, He qualified us to share in His inheritance as holy people who abide in His Kingdom of light (Colossians 1:12-13).

God saved us and called us to live a holy life through Christ who dwells within us, not by any works which we have done, but because it was His plan for all mankind before the beginning of time (Ephesians 2:8-10). By these steps He proves to us His grace and offers us an intimate union with Himself if we are willing to take the time and effort to develop such a love relationship with Him (Ephesians 2:8-9; 2 Timothy 1:9).

Prayer:

Father God, thank You that everyone who calls on the name of Jesus for salvation does so for Your glory, and as a result of Your Living Word, which is Jesus (Acts 2:21). Thank You also that Jesus is our advocate with You (1 John 1:8 - 2:2), and that Your Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in mere words (Romans 8:26-39). You know our heart, and You understand what the Spirit is saying when He pleads for us in agreement with Your will for us.

Our heart rejoices, Lord, and is encouraged by Your Word and by the evidence of Your hand upon our life. We can boast in You as we delight in Your deliverance for us through every trial in life that we experience. There is no one as holy as You, no God other than You, and no Rock of stability for us through the storms of life that is better for us than You (1 Samuel 2:1-2). We give You all our praise and glory for Your intervention on our behalf.

Thoughts for the Day:

As we pray God’s Word for our self, our family, our community, and the world, we find specific verses that give us an encouraging format to use for our prayers:

·      The Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:5-15)

·      Success in our battles and life choices (Nehemiah 1:1-2:9)

·      Total surrender to God’s Will for us (Psalm 139)

·      Prayer for pardon as we confess our sins (Psalm 51)

·      Provision in wilderness times (Exodus 32:9-14)

·      Deliverance and healing in body and soul (2 Kings 19:14-19; 20:1-7)
