I am the oldest of four children in our family with three
younger brothers. They used to be smaller than I am, but now they are bigger
and stronger. They will help me in any way that they can, and I love their
hugs.
As authentic Believers in Christ, we enjoy Jesus as our
brother. He will help us in any way that He can too. I am not implying that He
is incapable of meeting all of our needs; but in His wisdom He often withholds
from us our desires that would not be in our best interest.
Jesus is the only
true and reliable way, truth and life (John 14:6). He offers us salvation and
the opportunity to see and experience the Kingdom of God. We are co-heirs with
Jesus to God's Kingdom (John 3:3, Romans 3:23, 6:23).
If we humble our
self before God and believe in Jesus and what He did for us on Calvary's Cross,
we enjoy God's presence now and for eternity. However, if we reject God's offer
of salvation, we condemn our self to eternal torment, because we reject the one
and only Son of God (John 3:18).
Our good deeds
cannot earn us a place in Heaven. Only if we turn from our rebellion can we
believe that Jesus is indeed one with God. Then, the gate of Heaven will swing
wide open for us.
The Holy Spirit
matures us by transforming our mind from our carnal, human reasoning to
spiritual Heavenly mindedness. Eventually, sin ends up grieving our heart as
much as it grieves the Spirit (Ephesians 4:30).
God's spiritual
fruit renews our personality, and we grow in Christ each moment of the day. The
joy of the Lord is our strength; and in Him, we can accomplish anything that He
gives us to do.
Prayer:
Father God, thank
You for giving us Your only begotten Son as our big brother, by adopting us
into Your family. We have so many privileges as Your children. Even with
eternity, we will never have enough time to bless You for all that You do for
us each day.
We look forward
to You using us for Your will and purpose each day. Your divine appoints bless
us beyond words; not only because we see You work through us to touch lives,
but because we know we are making a difference for Your Kingdom.
Thought for the
Day:
God hears our
humble cries and listens to our concerns, providing all of our needs;
therefore, we are never ashamed to honestly communicate to Him our thoughts and
feelings, because He cares so much for every detail in our life.
