We Serve at the Pleasure of Our King

As authentic Believers, our perspective about life changes from an earth-bound existence to a heaven-bound life. God works out everything for our eventual good. Even if it is not what we hoped for, it is always just what we need.

God's Spirit is transforming us into the glory of the Lord's likeness in ever-increasing stages (2 Corinthians 3:18). With every act of obedience, we grow more like Jesus each day. Our self-centered attitude, focus, goals, and perspective change to Christ-centered ones.

When people look at us, it is as if they are looking through a magnifying glass and seeing Christ within us instead of us - with all of our foibles and idiosyncrasies. We do our best to walk by His Spirit each moment of the day (Galatians 5:15-25), and leave the rest up to Him.

The darkness around us is dispelled by His light within us (Philippians 1:20). Even in our times of persecution, people see Christ magnified through us (Philippians 1:13). When others see the difference that God makes in us, they are also encouraged to be bold witnesses for Christ (Philippians 1:14).

Over the years, regardless of the circumstances that we encounter, we experience the joy and peace that come with serving God (2 Corinthians 4:18). God has a perfect plan for our life, and walking in that plan is the happiest place on earth.

When we walk according to God's will for each moment of our day, the disruptions in our schedule are not caused by our own plans, but are divine appointments to minster for God's glory and to further His Kingdom in the earth.

With each sunrise, we commit once more to serve at the pleasure of our Majesty and Lord, King Jesus. We may not see the results of our spiritual labors now, but when we get to Heaven all those whose lives we touched will be there to spend eternity with us. What a glorious day that will be!

Prayer:
Father God, with each new day we praise You for a world that is not yet full of chaos, financial ruin, ill-health and destruction. We also praise You for another day to serve at Your pleasure, and to bless lives with Your Holy Spirit. We draw near to You, resist the devil's plans for us, and know without a doubt that he will have to leave us alone (James 4:7).

Help us to hear Your directives for each moment of our day and to walk in Your Holy Spirit's power and anointing in every detail of our waking moments. Thank you for dispelling the darkness of this world that attempts to choke the life out of us, and for freeing us to live, move and have our being in You.

Thought for the Day:
I do not want to spend so much time attempting to provide myself with happiness on this earth, that I miss the opportunities, which God gives to me to experience His joy and peace now and for eternity.
- Psalm 95:7
