Like a Rose

I like to say that God plants a seed for a miracle in every trial. If I look for His provision, the trial is more of an adventure than a tribulation. Jesus said we would have trouble in this world, but that we should rejoice, because He already overcame the world (John 16:33).

Therefore, our soul can praise the Lord, especially when we remember all the blessings that He already gave us. He forgave our sins, heals our diseases, redeems us from a life of destruction, and showers us with His loving devotion and compassion (Psalm 103:2-4).

Like He did for the Israelites in the dessert, He takes away sickness from our midst, and gives us healthy food to eat and water to drink (Exodus 23:25). He is the Lord who heals us. As we obey His Word and do what is right in His eyes rather than anyone else’s eyes, then He does not inflict us with diseases to discipline us, teach us lessons, and prove His faithfulness (Exodus 34:7).

During His lifetime, Jesus went through the towns and backroads teaching and proclaiming the good news of His Kingdom as He healed the diseases and sicknesses He encountered (Mathew 9:35). When we cry out to Him for His help, He is gracious to us and heals us as well (Psalm 30:2, 41:4; 2 Kings 20:5).

As we live a life of praise to His name, He saves us from a depraved life and heals us in spirit, soul, and body (Jeremiah 17:14). He redeems us from deprivation and suffering as He fills us with His new life of peace, joy, and eternal life, making us feel younger and more energetic as we serve Him (Job 33:23; Mark 5:34).

Prayer:

Father God, due to the sins of our fathers, we inherit genes that predispose us to certain character flaws and diseases. We cry out to You as our Heavenly Father to free us from these restrictions and to give us a blood transfusion that will exchange the blood of the Lamb for our diseased human blood. We long for health so we can serve You with more energy and commitment in every way that You planned for us before we were ever born (Ephesians 2:10).

We cannot thank You enough for Your forgiveness, compassion, peace, love, and joy that You shower on us each moment of every day. In spite of our ailments, You use us as a witness of Your divine intervention, provision, and joy in our tribulation. Then, when others look at us, they see radiant Saints who believe in and trust in You regardless of our circumstance. We give You all the praise and glory that is due to Your name.

Thought for the Day:

Michael W. Smith taught us an amazing song called, “Above All.” The chorus to this song humbles us as it reminds us of what Jesus suffered for our sake:

“Crucified, laid behind a stone
You lived to die, rejected and alone
Like a rose, trampled on the ground
You took the fall and thought of me
Above all.”

It grieves me to think of Jesus being rejected and alone during his torture and crucifixion on Calvary’s cross; yet, even when He took the fall in my place, He thought of me (and you) above all. His love for us all knows no limits; so trust Him today and call out to Him for your salvation, redemption, and sanctification.
