Living in Divine Union

Japanese white-eyes come in search of cherry blossom nectar.

God’s mercy is new for us every single morning (Psalm 103:8; Lamentations 3:20-23). Since we love Jesus and believe that He comes from God, this proves that our Father loves us too (John 16:27). He considers all our troubles, and He is aware of the deepest wounds in our soul.

Therefore, we can be happy and rejoice in the mercy and hope, which He has for us. This makes us patient in our trials and causes us to pray without ceasing through every instance of the day (Psalm 31:7; Romans 12:12). Every authentic Born Again Believer lives in divine union with this same Christ in us (Colossians 1:27).

God is always merciful and gracious to us, slow to get angry over our failings, and He showers His mercy on those of us who abandon our pride and turn away from our intentional sinful practices. Although we still live in a body of flesh, we now live by the faith of the Son of God who cares for us and sacrificed Himself for us (Galatians 2:20).

We pray through any rocky stretches of road by the direction of His Spirit, and we petition Him to meet our needs and the needs of all His Saints (Ephesians 6:18). We obey God rather than the well-meaning advice we give to our self or that we receive from others (Acts 5:29). When we delight in the Lord, He gives us His desires in our heart.

We dedicate our life, love, and whole body, soul, and spirit to Him, and we walk in His will for our life (Matthew 12:30). God uses division to separate people who are fruitful in His Kingdom from those who merely seek Him for their own personal gain (Luke 14:33). When we surrender our life to Him, He fulfills us by meeting every need in our soul (Luke 12:49; Matthew 10:34).

Jesus is our example of a life totally dedicated to God. Even at the age of 12, He sat in the temple and discussed spiritual matters with the teachers of His day. Also, He was willing to suffer on Calvary’s cross to fulfill His purpose in life (John 4:34). We want God’s will to be done in us too - on the earth as it is done in Heaven (Matthew 6:9-13).

Prayer:

Father God, we fully lay down our carnal life and totally surrender to Your plans for our life. We put to death the deeds of our flesh, and completely submit to Your direction and guidance. We hand You the reigns of our life and trust in You to guide our paths according to Your divine plans for us. We willingly forsake all earthly pursuits as Your disciples, because we know that this is the best way to find our life – by losing it to Your eternal love for us.

Remind us that true happiness and fulfillment in this life and throughout eternity is by living in the very center of Your desires for us. Not everyone who calls You Lord will enter eternity with You, but only those who repent of our penchant to sin, and who believe in Jesus and His saving work for us on Calvary’s cross instead. We focus our life on doing Your will (Matthew 7:21). We can do nothing of significance through our human resources; therefore, it is imperative that we seek Your will and timing for every decision we make in life (John 5:30).

Thoughts for the Day:

Committing our thoughts, feelings, and action to the Lord, trusting only in Him, resting in His love for us, and waiting patiently on His timing and way provides us with more faith and less stress than attempting to work out everything through our human means. He is our God, and our life is in His hands. We can trust in Him.
