God is Love

God proved His love for us by taking on the form of a man to save everyone humble enough to walk away from a humanistic lifestyle and to accept His sacrifice in our place (John 1:1-14). Even while we still struggle with sin that is hard for us to walk away from, He loves us unconditionally (Romans 5:8).

After repentance, we die with Jesus to our sinful and self-centered desires, and our life is hidden with Christ in God. Jesus is our whole life, and He will return for us in His timing. We will abide with Him in all His glory (Colossians 3:1-25).

Jesus is the bodily form of our invisible God. He is God’s only begotten Son, and He is the firstborn in our eternal family of all those who reject this world and walk in His ways. God adopts us into His family and plans for us to inherit as our own everything that Jesus won for us on Calvary’s cross.

All that we experience on this globe was created by Him – the visible and invisible aspects, all thrones and dominions, and even rulers and authorities - were created by and appointed by Him for the implementation of His perfect plan for humanity (Colossians 1:15-16). God is in control of the events in us and around us.

He created gravity to keep the planets in exact orbit around the sun, as well as the earth slanted on its axis, and the whole cosmos structured and performing as one entity. If He lets go, then chaos would reign in the universe and life would cease to exist (Colossians 1:17). His control gives us trust and peace.

By God’s power we are guarded through faith in our salvation, which is ready to be fulfilled in glorification when Jesus returns to the earth. His Spirit enables us to crucify our inclination to participate in immorality, evil desires, idolatry, and covetousness; and instead, to walk in His will and ways for our life.

Prayer:

Father God, Your steadfast love and faithfulness never forsake us. We daily ingest Your Word and write Your scriptures on our heart. This practice always provides us with favor and good success in Your sight and serves as a testimony of Your existence to everyone around us (Proverbs 3:3-6). It also allows us to live unrestricted from the bondage of fear concerning the unknown issues of life, as well as freedom from sin, which Jesus unchained us from on Calvary’s cross.

The darkness is not dark to You, and the night shines as the day; darkness and light are alike to You (Psalm 139:7-12). When darkness covers us, even the night will be light around us. From the dust of the earth, You created Adam as well as a helper for him, and all the animals on earth that we know and love, and the creatures in the seas, and birds in the skies, and the vast universe (Genesis 1:1, 2:18-25). Thank You for thinking of us before we were even born (Psalm 139).

Thoughts for the Day:

According to God’s unconditional love and mercy, He drew us to Himself, and we were Born Again into a living hope inspired by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. We share in Jesus’ inheritance, which is eternal, perfect, and everlasting because it is kept in Heaven for us.
