Making Peace with God

When we turn from allowing evil and sinful desires to dictate our behavior and to rule in our thoughts, emotions, and choices, the Lord strengthens us to walk in His ways and abundantly blesses us with His peace in our spirit and soul (Psalm 29:11).

As we pursue the peace of His Spirit in our decisions, we reap fewer negative consequences (Psalm 34:14). When we love and live by God’s laws, we enjoy greater harmony in our thoughts, emotions, and choices. Nothing can cause us to stumble out of His will for us (Psalm 119:165).

Seeking the peace of God’s Spirit in our spirit – not usually in our thoughts and emotions - prior to making any decisions provides us with a joyful and fulfilled life (Psalm 37:37; 1 Peter 3:11). As we actively walk in the full restoration that God provides for us, we enjoy more of His love and peace (2 Corinthians 13:11).

Living and enthusiastically practicing God’s precepts and principles, that He teaches us through His Word, ensures that God’s peace will fill us with serenity (Philippians 4:9). Our spirit, soul, and body are rooted in His Gospel of peace (Ephesians 6:15; 1 Thessalonians 5:23).

If we allow negative behavior and emotions to rule over our thoughts, choices, and feelings, we participate in gossip, malicious thoughts, backbiting, and plotting evil against other people. However, if we promote goodwill in our circle of influence, we enjoy the richness of God’s peace within us (Proverbs 12:20).

When we go to bed realizing that we are justified with God through our faith in His faithfulness (Romans 5:1), we have less anxiety and more contentment and peace within our soul because we experience God allowing us to dwell in safety (Psalm 4:8), as He defeats satanic attacks against us by His grace (Romans 16:20).

Prayer:

Father God, thank You for Your Spirit’s guidance by Your peace within our spirit. We acknowledge that all we accomplish in this world throughout our lifetime is the benefit of our surrendering to You. Who we are and all that we have comes from You (Ephesians 2:8-9; Isaiah 26:12). Teach us how to walk through the tribulation in life with joy as we are led by Your peace, which comes to our spirit by Your Spirit (Philippians 4:4-8; Isaiah 55:12).

Regardless of how difficult our trails are, even if our life is completely altered, we can come to You when we are weary and burdened, and You will give us Your supernatural rest (Matthew 11:28-30). If we completely surrender to Your will for us, Your compassion ensures that we are never shaken, and we never lose Your tranquility in our soul (Isaiah 54:10). We give You all the glory and praise for our accomplishments in this world.

Thoughts for the Day:

In Christ, we have His supernatural peace regardless of our troubles. God gives us His peace to encourage our soul. He reminds us that He already overcame the world, and He abides within every authentic, Born Again Believer (John 16:33). We find the righteousness, peace, and joy of the Holy Spirit when we pursue the Kingdom of God all the days of our life (Romans 14:17-19).
